CouesWhitetail.com Member Spotlight - Allen Taylor

Editor's note: I have known Allen now since the beginning of CouesWhitetail.com.  He was the first person to send me a photo of a Mexico Coues (see the pic: http://www.coueswhitetail.com/mexico/mexico.htm ).  He killed it in Dec. 2002 and that is when I started this website.  Somehow he found the site right away and has been active ever since!  Allen has served as a moderator in the forum for several years now and has always been very supportive of this site.  Thank you Allen!

1. What is your name? How about your user name in the forum and how did you choose it?

I am Allen Taylor and Coueshunter is my user name.  I picked it because this is my favorite  animal to hunt.

2. What is your favorite part of CouesWhitetail.com (the forum, photogallery, recipes, hunt
strategies section, biology section, etc.)?

Favorite part of CW is the forum and how much info and help it provides.

3. How did you first hear about CouesWhitetail.com? How long have you been a member?

I have been a member since day 1.

4. How often do you visit the site? How much time do you spent each visit and what do you
do on the site?

Visit the site daily and spend about 1 hour looking at new posts, classifieds.

5. Have you met any other members of the site? Who are they and have you become friends with them and perhaps gone hunting with them?

I have met Redrabbit, Amanda, Christian, Brokenwheels, Stanley, Coosefan, Chef,Azbowhunter,Muley62, and others.

Have you introduced some of your friends to CouesWhitetail.com? Have you attended any of the CouesWhitetail.com Gettogethers?

I have hunted with a couple members and introduce all my friends to CW.

6. How long have you been hunting Coues deer? Describe your favorite Coues Deer hunting
memory.

I  have hunted coues deer for 8 years (after moving to AZ).  My favorite  memory is my past 2008 bowhunting experience.  I shot a nice buck and my son had two opportunities.  I  think killing a coues deer with a bow is one of the hardest achievements.  My son and I have a  goal is to take one with a recurve this year.

7. Do you archery hunt Coues or rifle hunt or both? Tell us about the equipment you use.

I hunt with a rifle and a bow.  Rifle is a weatherby .257mag.  I shoot  115 barnes x bullets.  My scope is a leuopold 3.5x14 with the premier reticle system.  My bow is a Mathews and I use carbon express arrows with Muzzy 100 grain broadheads.

8. What other species do you enjoy hunting and where do you hunt them?

I have hunted Columbia blacktail in Washington, sitka blacktail in Alaska, whitetail in Montana, Muleys in Wyoming, Montana, Arizona, New  Mexico, & Old Mexico.  Coues Deer in Arizona & Mexico.  Antelope in Wyoming & Montana.  Elk in Washington & Arizona.  Bears in Washington and various small animals like javelina, birds etc………

9. Now tell us some more about yourself. Where do you live? What type of work do you do (feel free to mention your business so other members can help support it)? Tell us about your family.

I am a Husband to Kerri Taylor for 20 years.  A father of two sons:  Travis-17 & Max-14.  We live in Mesa, AZ.  We have our own business, Environmental Filtration.  Our business is a wholesale HVAC supply house.  Most importantly  we are a Christian family………………..
