Editor's note:  I first met CJ at the Post Office when I was mailing out some CouesWhitetail.com stickers.  He noticed the mailings and introduced himself and I offered him a sticker for his vehicle.  I really enjoy chance meetings with members like that.  Thanks for saying hello CJ!

CouesWhitetail.com Forum Member Spotlight - Chad Barragan

  1. What is your name?  How about your user name in the forum and how did you choose it?

Chad Barragan most people know me as C.J. (a.k.a arizonaelitefreak).  My forum name comes from the brand of bow I shoot (I really love it!) and I am from Arizona.

  1. What is your favorite part of CouesWhitetail.com (the forum, photogallery, recipes, hunt strategies section, biology section, etc.)?

My favorite part of CouesWhitetail.com is the forum I enjoy all the topics and getting to know the members!

I visit the site daily more than once, and I usually spend 30 minutes to an hour and a half here.

I have met some of the members, I have met Amanda, Clay Price aka willhut4coues, Christian Wolf aka azcouesandelk, but I also already knew quit a few members. I have hunted with a few members such as Clay and Brandon aka 1denogean.

  1. How long have you been hunting Coues deer?  Describe your favorite Coues Deer hunting memory.

I started coues hunting when I was right around 4 years old with my dad , but I think my most memorable hunt so far has been this last year, it was my daughters very first coues hunt and we had a lot of help, unfortunately we were unsuccessful but none-the-less it was by far the most memorable hunt, I will cherish my baby girls first hunt forever!

  1. Do you archery hunt Coues or rifle hunt or both?  Tell us about the equipment you use.

I do hunt both but my main method of hunting is archer, I use an Elite E-force bow, spot hogg sights and nothing but vortex broadheads  and also the new inverter, for optics I have a set of Nikon Monarch 10x42’s for wearing on my chest and for my big optics im sporting a pair of Vortex Kaibabs 15x56.

8.  What other species do you enjoy hunting and where do you hunt them?

I also love hunting elk (when I can get drawn) northern az, exotics in either in Texas      or California, Javelina around Globe and occasionally I do hunt a mule deer, and don’t let me forget them pesky varmints and predators.

  1. Now tell us some more about yourself.   Where do you live?  What type of work do you do (feel free to mention your business so other members can help support it)?   Tell us about your family.

Well I am 32 and am the father of two of the greatest kids on earth, my daughter Anissa just turned 13 who is a cheerleader, my son Andrew is 10 and is turning into quit the lil hunter just ask Clay or anybody that knows him. We live in Miami, AZ. I am a union fire sprinkler fitter working for Western States Fire Protection, I am currently working on a big project in Flagstaff.
