Unit 22, Arizona
Here is what his brother Paul had to say about the hunt:
"This is a picture of my brothers Unit 22 Coues he
shot. Rough green score of 110-116. I have been watching this buck since
August in my trail cam and he's very nice with lots of palmation. My brother
lives in Michigan, got drawn and flew in Sunday night. We drove up to camp
Sunday night and found this guy high on the ridge at approximately 540 yards
Monday afternoon. We watched him for approximately 45 minutes and decided to
take the shot. 3 shots and this guy was down, I watched the whole thing in
my spotting scope and even seen the bullet vapor trail. Absolutely
incredible to see. Truly a terrific time spent with my brother and memories
for a life time!! I still don't think he knows what a trophy he shot for his
first Coues Whitetail!! Including pics of trail cams in velvet, buck on
ridge prior to shot and after shot. My brother is now a fan of Coues
Whitetails!!!! "

Unit 31, Arizona
"I glassed this buck up at
sun up on the last day of the hunt in unit 31 at about a mile away. My
grandson Davey and I got as close as we dared while my son David kept an eye
on the buck from a distance.
I ranged him at 550 yards
and shot him with my 7mm Rem Ultra Mag with at 140 gr bullet. The Coues
buck is a 3 X 3 and green scored at 90 ½ inches. In the picture on the left
is my grandson Davey and on the right is my son David."
"These two deer came from 30B and shot by Bobby Coronado and Taron Maddux
in the third hunt of 2008. They were both shot at 490+ yards respectfully
and were with 3-5 smaller bucks. The kicker to the story is that we were
hunting alone just the two of us, and had to drag the deer and gear over 5
hours to get back to where someone could pick us up. We didn't get back home
till well past 900 PM after shooting at 230-245 pm. It was a heck of a day,
but a lifetime of GREAT memories!!!"
