huntswnm Report post Posted March 3, 2010 Just thougt I would let everyone know that I heard today that the first ever Goulds Turkey hunt in NM, which took place Spring of '09, will be on TV tomorrow (March 3rd). I think they said on DirecTv channel 608?? I am not on satelite so not familiar with channels and will not be able to watch it.....if anyone can record it and get it to me that would be awesome I believe it will be on the NWTF's hunting show. The way this hunt came about was that the man who won the auction last year (paid $4,000) gave the tag to one of his sons. Once the raffle tag was drawn the same man contacted the winner of the raffle and ended up buying the tag from him for his other son. So the two hunters ended up being brothers as a gift from their dad. Unfortunately only one bird out of two ended up being taken, but not for lack of opportunity. Abnormaly hot weather also made it difficult. On a similar note the NM NWTF will be raffling off a Gould's tag once again this year with the second tag being sold by auction. I am sure I will have access to the raffle tickets again, as some of you bought some from me last year. If interested PM me.
