desertmafia21 Report post Posted May 6, 2010 Well we had unit 1 for spring turkey this year. The birds were not coming into to our calls so we played the listen and stalk game. On sunday morning it started to snow heavily and we listened for birds from the truck. Sure enough we heard some in the distance so we decided to go after them. We got near the edge of the hill right before it drops and sat (in the snow of course). We glassed the group of birds up about 100 yds away. We waited and waited watching there every move. Toms were strutting and hens were making all kinds of noise. About a half hour went past and they started to come our way. Most of the group veered to the right of us but one tom headed straight our way. He got to about 28 yards and bang had me a bird. It was a miserable hunt weather wise but all in all one of a kind. We ended up getting 6-8 inches of snow that day. Good luck to the other two in my group this weekend.
