Fall Turkey 4A/4B

Bombed in the spring hunt in 12A. Saw one feather on the ground, maybe two tracks, and only a couple piles of crap. Now I get one more chance in October in 4A/4B.

I'm heading up to Bear Canyon Lake to camp with some friends Labor Day weekend and am going to try and get out to turkey hunt with my bow. It's going to be the first time I've ever hunted turkey so I'm not sure what to expect. I plan on just trying to get away from the people and head up towards Chevelon Lake and hit any water holes/tanks that I can find on google maps. Would you say this is a good strategy? Again, this is my first turkey hunt. I'll let you know if I run into anything.

I would say this is a good trategy. Walk 1/4 down on the ridges and this is uaually where you will find a roost. Sit up and wait at the end of the day. Good luck!

Was up in 4A and 4B for youth spring Turkey and was skunked saw signs but nothing talking. Not trying to discourage you just don't get your hopes up the G&F officers the youth camp we went to were saying that those units have been really down in numbers the last few years.
