Muzzle Brake & Gunsmith

Recommended Posts

Looking to put a muzzle brake on my 300 Weatherby Mag. Any recommendations on which one to install and a trusting gunsmith to do the job?

Thanks,

ElkDeer

I've used a couple, but for a muzzle brake I'll only go with Lance Johnson at Dane Customs in Chandler. Very clean high quality work.

480-215-2295

He rarely answers his phone as he is always in the shop. Leave him a message. He usually calls back quick.

My favorite brakes are:

The Muscle Brake (about $80 for the brake alone)

The Fat Bastard or Little Bastard (about $125-$150 for the brake alone)

Badger Thruster (about $70 for the brake alone)

I like Phoenix Customs as well, and used them to put a Badger Thruster on my 300 RUM. They did a good job but the tapering from the brake to the barrel was not quite as clean and seemless as I would have liked.

Kaffer62, which brake did you have installed?

I had him install a shrewd and taper it to match the barrel

Does anybody know if Dave at Whitecloud does barrel fluting? David

I don't know if Dave does, but Dan Carey Custom Rifles does.
