My therapeutic deer hunt

Recommended Posts

Awesome read. I enjoyed every second of it. Sounds like you had a successful hunt. Glad to hear your boy loves bowhunting now, haha. More power to you for passing on those bucks early on. Don't know if I would have been that strong, haha. FANTASTIC pictures as well. What kind of camera are you using?

Sounds like a great time. Its okay to be lost once in a while as long as you're found. Did you ever put ever see your big buck?

Great story and pics. I am starting to document the hunts I am on or helping with as we all tend to forget the little details that put the puzzle together. Thanks for sharing

The camera is a Canon EOS Rebel T3 1100.

Total entry-level camera, but I really appreciate that it did not cost thousands of dollars because then I would be afraid to actually use it. I think it was about $600 online somewhere for the kit. You have to get pretty close to your subject. My decent animal pics are for sure under 100 yards with the best under about 60 yards I'd say.

It does have a loud shutter, but so far it has not interfered with the animals.

Wow Christina, how did I miss this story. All I saw was does and a few burnt cameras :) Seems like I need to tag along next year, to help......... with my bow......

Glad you could get out and have a great trip with your son. Mother Nature heals all wounds, with time.

Very nice recap of your hunt with some great pictures. Very cool and thanks for sharing. Awesome job on getting out there and learning so much on your own. Being in the woods is more therapeutic than anything else in my opinion.
