Jim White; President's Award; AZDBSS

Recommended Posts

I attended the Annual Ram Recognition Banquet this past Saturday held by the Arizona Desert Bighorn Sheep Society.

It was a great time reliving last years sheep hunting season and seeing some phenomenal trophies and mounts.

The Sheep Society awarded their Presidents Award last night to the late Jim White.

He was a friend of the forum and to many conservation groups. Always donating to the cause and as helpful a person as anyone could be. For those that don't know, Jim White was the founder and maker of his tripod head, among other innovative glassing tools that we all now use. In my opinion, my Jim White tripod head is the best I could have ever purchased. I bought it straight from him and have glassed up thousands of animals with it. Thank You Jim.

I thought it was very fitting for the AZDBSS to award Jim White. They are a class act and those guys have my utmost respect.

It was good to remember Jim in that way the other night. May he rest in peace and his legacy live on.

Jim White was one of our last pioneers. With his loss, I can't help but recall Norm Pint. These men lived the outdoor dream in Arizona. The pathways they created opened the door to decades of sportsmen and women, and especially kids. Godspeed to Jim, and prayers for his family. His legacy is huge, he will not be forgotten.
