KYB vs. Bilstein vs. Rancho

Recommended Posts

After a quick search of "Bilstein 4600 vs. 5100", I came to the conclusion that the 4600s are better for a stock height truck and the 5100s for a lifted truck. Google it and read a few threads all over the interweb.

I love shopping at Rockauto.com they have the best pricing I can find on the net. Just an FYI. I was too looking for shocks and know I am not as hard on them as the rock crawlers but I have had the Rancho 5000 and after 1 year blew them out.

I have Bilsteins on my Avalanche which has a 6" RCD lift. They have been great shocks even on a very heavy vehicle.

I put in the Bilstein 5100 shocks in my Tacoma and love them. They are the adjustable ones and raised my front end up about 1.5 inches. They haven't made the ride any stiffer and I have absolutely zero problems with them. I would recommend them without hesitation

Is your Tacoma stock? I was lookin into em for my ram 2500 (stock) and seems as if they're for lifted trucks. I was wanting the 2" level as well

Bilstein by far. I have the 5100 and love them. Only shock with an extruded tube (no welds Seam) only welds are on the ends. Made in CA. Rancho is throat overrated shock on the market, may as we'll but a Monroe, same shock.
