7mm Mag Tikka t3 Load Data?

Recommended Posts

Here is what I've worked up so far and by no means consider myself an expert.  Thanks to those on this site that have shared their ideas and advice.  I'm told finding a bullet that my barrel likes is one of many keys.  My barrel seems to prefer Nosler 160gr Accubonds, 140's also grouped well.

-2018 Tikka T3X lite stainless 7MM (trigger set to 2 lbs.) with an AP little bastard brake.  Gotta throw down my Disclaimer-the data below is for MY rifle and my not apply to yours, start low and work up.

Lazy H98 Im curious do you like the less recoil loads?  These load data off a .280 would get almost the same speed with less powder.  I think your rifle is way under power right now except the top left one.  I would try to keep working those loads up and look for pressure.  You should be hitting 2900-3000 fps with a 168 grain

Not shooting a Tikka , but a Sendero 7mm mag. I'm at 3015 fps with 168 grain bergers. 64.5 gr imr 7828. Seems to be a pretty tame load, i have loaded cases over 10 times. Five shot group..........

Ive found a couple really good loads after extensive load development for my tikka 7 mag ( stainless). 60.8 g imr 4831 , 3.24 coal , barnes 150g ttsx , Hornady brass, fed  match 215 primer, right around a .5 inch group at 200 meters (224) yards. Absolute nailz at this distance but for some reason my speed sucked, I"m just shy of 2800 fps. The load i settled in on was 69.2 grains of reloader 25  , winchester brass, fed match 215 primer, 3.29 coal , 160g accubond . i have 2 different 4 shot groups under 2 inches at 300 meters, one was today feb 11 2021, speed on this load is right around 2900 , not the fastest loads but extremely accurate.20210211_215319.thumb.jpg.7c872a67cb6c0ac148eda8ac932f77ac.jpg

Wayback 71-great info and pics, thanks for sharing. Below is my money load, at 100 yard zero.  Maybe the off the shelf Tikka barrels on our rifles, prefer 2800-2900 FPS.  Accubonds have proven flat out lethal for me.  A Coues, Muley and Bull Elk at 404 yards, 416 yards and 400 yards.  All one shot kills.  I'm currently working up a load from my off the shelf .270 winchester model 70.  Welcome to the board BTW.

Lazy-H98, thank you, was more than Happy to share,  the reloader 25 load was basically from a guy from you tube , i worked my  load up to what he claimed was his load , he was using the 162 eldx which i did try with a coal of 3.33 and hornady brass, it grouped well till i went out to 300 meters then opened up quite a bit , he also claimed 3000  fps  with 69 g of Re-25  which i didnt get , i see our speeds are very close  which  adds up ! Reloader 25 is right behind imr 7828 on the burn rate chart. Great group btw,  i realize its an old thread but the more load data thats shared the easier it is for the next guy 😁. Good luck with your 270, mine liked imr 4831
