MULEPACKHUNTER

heart broken

I have always used play-doh to fill gaps and holes in the action and car wax for a release agent. Never had any problems and it gives me a good, tight fit..

90 percent completed now. So glad I stuck with this stock. My son grabbed this gun when he first started working a job and had his own money, later on he needed cash so I gave him 200.00 bucks with this as collateral. A year or so later he told me just to keep it and I later mentioned I sold it. This will be gift wrapped for his first elk hunt in December. I found another one just like it in a pawn shop and I may match them up and give the other one to my pops who has the same first elk tag. Both are 30-06.post-10379-0-38651100-1501541087_thumb.jpeg

I'd stick to about 15X max something in the neighborhood of 2x10, 3x15 would be plenty or at least that is a great range for that caliber in a factory setup.

4x12x40 would fit pretty well for a 3006 I think. For a good budget friendly scope that gets it done I like the Redfield revolution series. They are made by Leupold in Oregon. I really like there hold over reticle. I currently have 4 of these scopes and like them all.

My buddy has 1 on his 3006 and we have stretched it out to 500 yards with no problems. If you want to pay for a nicer scope by all means do, but don't overlook this one if this is your budget price range.
