115" Mexico 3x3 pics and kill shots

Recommended Posts

This year just as many years past I had high expectations as we headed down to Mexico. I've been known as the last day shooter for many years now because I pass up great bucks trying to kill the true Giant.

Well this year I glassed up this buck opening morning and I really didn't want to shoot. As many times as I added him up in my mind I could only get him pushing 110. I've killed quite a few bucks and wanted something with some extras. Well long story short I ended up watching and trying to decide to kill this buck for almost 6 hours. I finally decided that he shouldn't be passed and I shot him at 300 yards. Believe it or not I was disappointed because I knew that it was another year down without killing a giant buck with extras. but I knew he was a stud buck that should not be passed. For the first time I was done opening day.

I was pleasantly surprised to score this buck at 115 even gross and net 111 5/8. He has 19 2/8 and 18 4/8 beams with a 15 4/8 inside spread.

On Day 3 I glassed up a giant buck behind some ocotillos from about a mile away. As luck would have it, he bedded as I was grabbing my spotting scope. So we waited an hour or so until he stood up, at one glance I knew he was a shooter, we hurried to close the distance before dark and my buddy Richard made a 1 shot kill on this great 4x4 that will be pushing 115.

The next day after a 6+ hike into some roadless areas of the ranch and passing on some really good bucks, Rob made one heck of a shot at 650 yards to anchor his 2016 Mexico buck.

What a great time, with great friends in a great place.

Very nice! I loved the videos. The quality of your footage looks crazy good. From the looks of it I'd have to guess the footage was captured by phonescopeing. It always amazes me to see such awesome footage coming from a dang phone attached to a scope or binos. Excellent job all around congrats!

Them are definitely all awesome bucks. Congratulations to you and the other hunters. Thanks for sharing your experience on your Mexico hunt. There is no way I would have even thought twice about passing him up. :)
