cramerhunts Report post Posted November 1, 2016 My dad drew a desert mule deer tag again this year so I headed down south to give him a hand. He got down four days early and started scouting. He was able to see a lot of deer every day but almost no bucks. By the time I got down we only had an afternoon to look around before the season opened up. Dad told me he was not going to be picky given the lack of bucks we'd seen and just about any decent buck was going to be in trouble. Opening morning started out about the same as the scouting with us spotting 16 does and fawns and one little forky. Around 8 am while glassing back over a group of does we had spotted earlier I notice another deer had joined them and he just happened to be a buck. After a few hours of stalking dad was able to take his fourth desert muley in a row. I wasn't able to get the shot on video but did take some just before. This has turned into one of my favorite hunts each year as I am able to spend some good quality time with my pops. 31 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
