Fair Chase in Arizona ...

I would like to see the law only apply to guides who are making money, not to The Average JOE.

There are less than one very poorly paid WM per unit. They are not going to spend much time looking for these violations except to be told to go where there are many cameras lined up at a water hole. If each camera was a $1000 fine then that is they will be looking for. Then the G&F bureaucrats in carefree will take the money and give themselves a raise and pat on the back.

why are trail cameras around water bad?

Clearly, trail cameras can spread chronic wasting disease!

Anyone know if there has been any movement by G&F on this banning trail-cam within 1/4 mile of water subject? Seems it was a big subject last spring and into summer but have not heard or read anything since. In an effort not to be left out of contributing to the rumor mill, a friend of mine said he talked to a G&F employee a couple months ago that said this law was a done deal.

Must admit, I lose a certain amount of respect for anyone who wears a flat brimmed hat. Just seems............... silly to me. Kind of like grown men who wear big baggy basketball shorts and jerseys as part of their normal wardrobe. More silliness. I guess I have officially entered the old mans club. It was bound to happen.

Lastly, I am still bummed that I did not draw a 6a spring turkey tag.

Happy hunting

If you go read the older minutes from the past few Comission meetings, it clearly shows it as approved. They're just waiting on the next Rule Making process. I think those are every five years. Not sure when the next one is.

Anyways, I think it's a cluster f@$%! But it appears a done deal.

If it is a done deal, someone is definitely in violation. When I was in 23 looking around for a Bear, there was a minimum of three cameras on every water hole.

I think it has to go through the rule making process first, whenever that is. Probably won't go in effect for another couple years.

Another rule that's unenforceable.

L.O.L. I expressed that same opinion on a post on f.b. and you should have seen the guides attack! Heck I had to remove a few phone numbers from my contacts after that. Guys right here on coues that are guides got down right indignant with me and started call in names. L.O.L. Thank the Lord I like forkeys!!!

why are they regulating them to begin with?

Because in certain units ( 9 and 13 mostly), on man made water sources there are 20+ cameras on every water hole. People constantly hiking in/out to check their cameras disrupt other people trying to hunt and push animals off the water source. Those water sources are made and maintained to benefit wildlife but when there is a steady string of people walking to and from them every day, it defeats their purpose

During my archery elk hunt this year I had guides come check their cameras at three different tanks while I was sitting the tank.

No kidding... I'm amazed at how many guys tell me they're a guide. Ed F

apparently these days hunting with friends and family means youre a guide. the best is when a dude says he has a "client" and its really just his neighbor.

I consider myself an outfitter when it comes to family. I have to pay for everything and do all the work.😏
