Arrow setup for Elk

Recommended Posts

I would like to hear about rest tuning at 40 yards. Is that different than 10 to 20?

Sounds like French tuning...

Exactly just French tuning. I shoot a hamskea hybrid hunter pro rest and it has micro adjust. Started my initial french at 6 feet. Then 10 yards. Then 20. Then 40. That inch left at 10 yards turns into 3 or 4 inches at 40 yards.

I just forgot to adjust my black gold slider when I shot at 40, causing me to miss high and snack the block wall. When you shoot at something as close as 6 feet. You aim with an 80 or 90 yard pin.

You put in for a archery elk hunt and you have no clue on what to shoot?

do you even own a Bow?

Read post #11 and then ask those questions again.

Whose getting pass throughs sub 300fps

If I remember right my hoyt katera 70lbs 28" draw chrono'd at 280 with the Easton axis 340s. It's been a long time since I chrono'd it but I know I was definitely under 300. Axis 340's topped with 100 grain montec from that bow passed through two bull elk and a 200 pound feral pig
