Wonder what it would cost to shoot a 470 bull on the San Carlos reservation ?

Nice sheds. The San Carlos is by far the best place to hunt elk and if scouted well could give a high end high fence ranch a run for its money. A guy could make a legend of himself as an elk hunter if he hunted there several times. It will always be a dream of mine to hunt there for elk. Passing 385 bulls with a smirk on my face would be an honor.

that guys name is Dan Agnew and the other is Casey Brooks. The hunt there nearly every year and kill 400+ bulls.

Some of the stories I heard,if true, about these guys are incredible. I don't think a 400" bull would get them to arizona.

Well I never thought I'd see a set of antlers like this let alone have the chance to purchase them. The set is unreal weighing 37.5 pounds total and as is with some chewed tines scores 395 without a spread credit. We've estimated about 4 inches missing from chewed off point tips putting him close to 399-400 inches before a spread. Obviously no idea what his spread is but we're talking a potential 435-440 inch typical bull with 61 inch beams. H1 of 11 inches. Always the what ifs but if he were to have a seventh on his right side he could gross near 450" and net in the high 430's. As is with a 40 inch spread he nets around 419". Unbelievable bull. Someone is going to pay some ridiculous money to hunt him this next fall on the San Carlos.

No matter what the story.....that right there is alot of BULL!!!

I'm seeing $4500 for the tag, for Sept. archery elk. And I believe you have to hire a San Carlos guide? Draw by lottery, at $26. 10 permits total. Their webpage needs a little work for sure.

I wonder what those draw odds are!

I don't see any additional trophy fees for size?

Now, the White Mt. Apache elk hunt is pricey.... $20,000

Thats for the Malay gap unit that doesn't produce big Bulls. Very tough hunt. Dry lake, hilltop and nine mile are the good tags and they cost around $30,000- $40,000. They only give 2 tags per unit I believe and with so many rich guys hunting it already you can't even get on the waiting list. You have to hire a san carlos guide on the trophy hunts as well and you pay a per inch trophy fee for a bull over 380 BC. I know this because my friend lives there and works for the tribe.

The white mtn Apache costs $20,000 but they give out way too many tags and it's hurting their big elk population. There are a few monsters still killed there but San Carlos wins on the amount of big Bulls by far.
