Hog hunt in Texas, Is it worth it?

Recommended Posts

So I won a 3 day hog hunt in Texas. All paid for except hog gutting and cleaning. They wont let you do it your self. They charge $1 per pound. Has anyone hog hunted in Texas and is it worth going? Its at the Independence Ranch.

$1 per pound seems steep, does that include taking the hair off? Just curious as I have never hog hunted.

$50 to process any pig up to 50 lbs then $1 lb after that

so if most texas hunts are 350- 400 dollars for 2 hogs - 50 lbers add 100 so the hunt will cost - approx. 500 - do you have to tip butcherer

so if you feel the free meals and lodging makes up for that part of the 3 day package- hope you eat a good 3 meals a day- do you tip the cook ?

so if its a free $ 799 dollar package

i'd be shooting 2 -5 -50lbders and call it good- does that make the trip worth while?

1,000 miles each way === 30 hrs of driving

have fun---I'd pass look for a east new mexico hunt

Sounds like a scam. I would never agree to a program like that.
