Easy fix or PITA?

Recommended Posts

2004 Z71 Silverado. Cruising down the highway and glance down and see this! GPS showed my current speed was at 67mph. Obviously a malfunction happening with the RPM and Speedo.

I pulled the fuses and that worked for awhile, but it's now doing it again.

How much $$$$$ am I looking at?

Mine did that a few years back. I found a guy on ebay who replaced them all. Pull the panel and ship it whole. I think it was about 90 bucks.

Mine did something like that in 2005, one year after I bought it new. Covered by waranty...but I think there was a recall.

Got an 04 with the 5.3. If I could finally solve the "reduced engine power" issue I'd be a happy camper.

Yeah, this truck has been great to me. It's put in places I had no business being in.....and got me out and back home too! :)

Not wanting to jinx it, but other than general maintenance, this truck has been solid.

Just use some adhesive velcro strips to make a mount for the GPS. Brand new speedometer, quick and easy.
