Quick Scalie Hunt

Have a young dog that is just about finished out now. She did really good today. Left the older dogs at home to see what this one can do solo. Also saw some healthy mearns.

I have never hunted Mearns but have seen them a few times in the wild. It is amazing how close you can get to them. We had one sitting on the side of the road a couple of years ago in Sonora just a few feet from the truck and just sat there while we took pictures.

Did you go to any of the spots we discussed?

Na I went to some of my old spots and found them filled with birds. Last year was not too great there but this year worked out. It's nice to look for new areas just for reasons birds will be birds and some years aren't as good.
