Handgunners-What gun, What bullet?

Recommended Posts

Probably my Freedom Arms 6" single action with mid range loads. It's hammered them for the last 6 years straight.

What caliber and what grain?

You cracked the code, grin...

Mid Range = 250 XTP at 1400 FPS

Full House = 335 at 1550 FPS

Mid Range is plenty

I usually fling arrows but if I do get a HAM tag I like to carry a Coonan Arms .357 magnum. It is a somewhat uncommon gun. If I take it hunting I load Hornady 158 XTP's for it.

That coonan is such an awesome gun

Thanks. I have had it for almost 30 years. Took a few pigs along the way. I used to shoot IPSC with it. Range officers would groan when I showed up, it dented pepper poppers. I started downloading it so that did not happen. Nice gun right out of the box. It has a pivoting trigger instead of a bow trigger and comes with a clean 3 lb break from the factory. Extended slide release and safety are standard. The BoMar sight is an option. You do need big paws to be able to wrap them around the grip.

I'm such a 1911 fan, that I pretty much have to have one one day.
