I watch this website: https://inciweb.nwcg.gov

Yep. I won't lie. This is going to be the year that makes me glad I gave up wildland firefighting. The Beast will be hungry this year.

Fortunately, everything in the greater show low area has burned. Cant wait to hear "when I am camping in the white mountains I want a camp fire" then a day later everything is cooked.

It's May 2, 2018 and snowing right now in Flagstaff... not much, but it is wet at least. We sure do need the moisture!

Went up on the Rim on FR 237. Found out that day was no fire. Suck!! Crappy night! But man oh man the dirt is like sand dunes out there

Never understood the prognosticators. When it is a dry winter they say the summer fires are likely and extreme. When we have a wet winter and spring they same the same thing. Can we just agree that every year Arizona forests are dry until monsoons arrive and fire is always a threat? We actually had a very unlikely May storm system that brought snow/rain or that tinder fire would be much worse.

Here’s the Coconino Forest number for reporting fires. 928-527-3552, everyone should put it in their contacts and report any camp fires during a restriction period. We need to hold the forest service accountable for following up on these reports and handing out some stiff fines for the offenders. Please share this as much as possible and add any other forest contact numbers for the areas you routinely visit.

Thanks
