Beware of the speed trap after the red cross in sonoyta. The speed limit is very very slow then you have to get past the 40km sign (25 mph) before you can go 25 mph. They take your license and you pay $80 to get it back. Have a nice trip. 1 finger salute mex

The ACE hardware on Houghton by Rita Ranch has probably the biggest selection of saltwater fishing gear in Tucson but it is nothing like Phx Fishing Supply. Sportsman's also has some. Catalina Marina is now closed and they had a good saltwater fishing room. There also was a fishing/archery shop but he closed down 3 - 4 years ago. Most serious guys are now getting almost all of their stuff online.

+ 1 on this... Just drive the speed limit from Sonoyta to Rocky Point.... I'm not even mad at these speed traps . It has people driving like normal human beings and not trying to be Dale Earnhart from Sonoyta to Rocky Point. Enjoy your trip.

this is kind of funny. I am guessing about 1% of the people driving from Sonoyta to RP go 55 MPH. I normally go 65 - 70 and have sometimes been passed like I was standing still.

One lady on the RP FB page got her panties all in a bundle and said "the speed limit is 90 KM per Hour and NOT 90 MPH" HA HA LOL

I do make sure I drive the speed limit when going through towns/cities regardless of it being Sonoyta, Hermosillo, Caborca or anywhere else.

Thanks for the replies. Had no idea there was an ace up there with any sort of gear whatsoever.

Yeah the ace on houghton/Valencia has really expanded both hunting and fishing section. Really nice coues hanging in the corner by the hunting license desk...one of the managers killed it and was state record at the time I believe he said.
