What rifle caliber is most common for coues deer hunting in AZ?

Your too late, the only thing left is down in the war zone. So, an AR w/30 round clip will protect you if you want to go.

I have shot more with a .270 than anything else. That said, my current Coues rifle is a custom .257 AI built on a Mexican Mauser action. As has been said, it's more important to have a rifle that you can carry and shoot accurately.

My minimum caliber would be .243 Winchester, although I have friends that get their deer every year with a .223 of some persuasion. FWIW, I have never shot a Coues whitetail much beyond 200 yards, and most were about half that distance. YMMV.

270. It's all about knowing your gun and have confidence in it. Practice 500yrd shots aren't easy

Thank you. Lots of personal favorites listed.

Killed several with a 257 wby.

I killed 1, 572 yards. good times. But I killed a Muley and I've seen my dad kill a few deer with it too and none went anywhere

My go to has been my Browning A-Bolt in 30-06 and I will probably stick with it.

However, I will most likely add a rifle in .300 WSM in the future.

Thanks for all the suggestions and opinions!

.308 I will be updating the scope this yr.

optics and a range finder are actually more important than caliper in my opinion

cant see/m and know the distance - you won't tagg'm

Hopefully this year it will be a 410 grain Easton axis with a rage broadhead!

6.5 creedmoor is the latest that I am really liking right now. But any big game cartridge will do that you shoot well.
