I'll echo the Mossberg 835 12g 28 inch 3.5 inch with ultra full or a turkey/coyote choke up to .690 restriction with fiber optic and camo. AJI Sporting Goods in AJ's has 2 used Mossberg 835's for sale that are camo and 3.5 inch both under $250. Not all these bells/whistles but I'd get one if I didn't already have one. Remington's are always solid, a bit higher quality than Mossberg imho. Any load that says turkey from a reliable brand will have premium powder, nbr 4 or 6 shot, and probably a longer range wad. Pattern the gun on some paper at 30 and 50 yards to a drawn turkey head pattern and check how many shots around the head. The benefit with a semi-auto is a quicker shot when it counts for turkey or predators. I'm getting fired up now! Good luck.

This was a pretty cool looking color on a bear. You can see her little nipple on the bottom side and there are a couple other smaller blacks running around including one male. She came in 2 hours after we left our stand, but tag limits had already been filled.

I went last year but I don't recall the cost, I'd guess around $50 or so max, then the follow up step to mail in the certificate to AZ G&F and they'll mail the license. But the significant cost is buying the cages, there were a couple good suppliers that most folks here buy their cages from. I think the range was ~$250-$300 for 3 real good cages. I found the breakouts taught by those cage dealers most useful for their strategy and tactics of trapping, rather than just the guidelines and legalities from the general conference session. DB, I'm no expert, but could be anything - an option could be that the educated older yotes are nipping at the younger yotes that are responding to prevent then from approaching and getting shot. The older ones will divert and nip at the younger ones if they're overzealous and approaching carelessly to a call (not upwind, or cautiously). Or, they could be calling out to check for a familiar reponse back from the dinner bell, or could be territorial. Good news is something's there. At the end of stands after a distress call, some folks I've seen on video and read about (never worked for me though) will play some young hurt pups as if they're being nipped by older yotes at the kill site. The goal is to create an environment of sounds saying, 'there's a kill party, we're all eating, you're missing out and better get over here'. Yote sounds may divert foxes and cats though. Good luck.

Hello CWT'ers, Some of you may have been contributors and some of you may have read or heard about this, but for those who haven't, here's a great example of supporting the future of hunting in AZ through a fun youth activity organized by a noteworthy volunteer group and sponsorship effort. RL Gray (mzlloader) with AZ Outfitters organizes this annual youth deer hunt near Wickenburg with the support and contribution of many local sponsors and charitable individual champions (mentioned in the link). This year it grew even more with over 40 youth hunters and a Sat nite chow line of over 90 people, not including crew.
