    Draw results

I'm so sick of Arizonas draw system. We are a month away from Archery season and no one knows where we can hunt yet. Just stupid.

Azgfd getting info on declined cards?!

Good points. I guess saving a few thousand trumps saving the mental pain and misery of thousands of waiting draw applicants.

Azgfd getting info on declined cards?!

This could all be so much easier if they charged us in full when we apply like before, online and paper apps, and refund us when we're not drawn.

    Camera Theft

If the person just took the card but left it turned on there is a chance that their picture is on the cameras memory. My Wildview stores pictures in it's memory also until the batteries run dead or are removed. If the batteries are still good and haven't been removed plug the camera into your computer via a USB cable and see whats in it's memory. Not sure if thats true though if it had a card in it and it was removed. I never tried to remove a card and plug it into a computer to see if the pics are also in the cams memory. I had a card stolen a few years ago and the guy was smart enough to also pop the batteries out to clear the cams memory.

God we are pitiful! I am still going to check every 15 minutes though until I see those 2 horrible words "Not Drawn"

    Credit Card Hit!!!

I posted in the draw results thread also but it's worth repeating. I logged onto my account (Wells Fargo) and poked around in there until I found the "notifiy me of transaction" function. I clicked on that and it gave me an option of getting texts or emails of transactions to any of the accounts (savings, checking, credit card). SO I chose to get a text message alert whenever my credit card gets a charge. It works, I bought some stuff online yesterday and got a text immediately. Now I don't have to log on every 5 minutes, HOWEVER I have been staring at my phone non-stop all day. It's like watching water waiting for it to boil. There has to be some kind of mental diability we all contract from this process every year. Class action lawsuit??

    draw results?

Good to know just updated my card to receive text You guys got me thinking about this so I went on to my account (Wells Fargo) and found the options for notifications. Pretty cool deal, signed up to get texts when my card is charged. I could choose which account (Checking, Savings, Credit Card, etc) and then refine the oprtions to a certain minimum dollar amount, online orders, deposits, phone orders, etc. Thats cool because I can refine it so I don't get a text everytime my wife buys a mochachocolatemeltabrainafakeacoffee..decaf at Starbucks or orders cool onsies for our twins.

    Fantasy Football

Wow, made it to the finals! First time ever in fantasy football. I don't play it much though. Just never been a big fantasy player. Just seems silly but it has been fun this year. Makes watching the games a little more entertaining also. It was a rough year, thought I was done before it even really started. I had a horrible draft and started the season 0-3. Had to dig around and find so-so players. Finally climbed my way to even and toggled back and forth at .500 all season. If it wasn't for Drew Breese scoring huge the second half of the season I would still be in last place. Just like hunting, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good I guess! Good luck Jay. Just because I posted this I'm going to lose but that's cool. Bow season opens back up for me in a week so I can drown my sorrows doing that.

    stoen cameras

I had one taken in 3c a couple years ago and will not put one back up there. There is something about that unit, you can't trust no one. I think people actually hunt for them, make a hobby out of it. I've seen 3 the last couple weeks scouting and hunting and I just wave or smile at them and move on. Some of you probably have my picture. :-) If it isn't yours don't touch it!!!!!

    Isnt camera theft legal?

That's exactly right. I do some occasional OHV volunteer work with the Forest Service and have asked the district ranger what the rules are is on trail cameras. Basically they view trail cameras as abandoned property on the Forest and they can confiscate them if they want. Same with ground blinds, and tree stands. The kicker is it all depends on the field officer and if they want to or not. You would think they would have a more defined rule but it depends on the district rangers view on it and the mood of the officer. If they deem your camera is being distracting to the game they can take it. If you hide it good and out of the way there is a chance that's it's left alone. He also told me (off the record of course) they (he) understand the use for them and most times will not touch them prior to hunting seasons like late summer or early fall but if they are out winter or spring they assume they are officially abandoned and bring them in. THEEEEEEN for fun I asked another district ranger in the same forest and he had a more cocky answer. Basically if it's left alone in the forest it's abandoned property and will be confiscated period, no questions. Totally different answer. SO in conclusion, they are not allowed on Forest Service lands and it completely depends on what the mood is of the particular officer and policy of that district (dozens of districts in each of the particular forests) and if he/she is a hunter and understands them if they take it or not. ALSO if you get a camera "stolen" it's best to call the forest service and ask if they have it. Not sure if they will give it back or not. ALSO this is all Forest Service talk. The AZ game and Fish are the "cops" out there in reality and I have no idea where they stand. I assume it's a lot of the same, depends on the officers mood and your particular camera set up. Hope this helps a little.

    Draw results?

It's really a shame they wait so long. I think we are the last in the country to get draw results. The archery guys have it the worst. We literally have 3 weeks to plan. That's not enough time to scout and be ready. I scout the areas in the summer that I may go with an OTC tag if i don't get drawn but if I do get drawn then I have to start over. I guess being out there is what counts though.

Sunrise 3d shoot happening this weekend!

Anyone get a list of the raffle winners? I guess since my phone has been quite I didn't win anything. I went up solo and shot all 4 of the upper courses and the Extreme course. I shot horrible Saturday but much better Sunday. I'm not sure if it was the hangover from Friday night, the rain, or the elevation (or all three) that did me in Saturday but I got a good nights sleep that night and had much more fun Sunday. Well except for the extreme course, that thing kicked my butt. It sure puts in perspective of thinking you can make those kinds of shots at that elevation. I knew the shots would be hard but I under estimated the difficulty of getting to the shots at that elevation. I was pretty winded much of the course. I missed 3 animals and shot most 5's and 8's with only 2 10's. I was ranging them all also! Definitely an eye opener. Although I did descent on the long range course. I shot a 33 with a 12 on the 100 yard shot!! I was a total luck shot though, I only have a 80 yard pin so I held a foot high, closed my eyes, punched the trigger, and heard a nice sounding thump a second later. Pretty cool. I think my 33 was good for 4th or 5th on Sunday. I had a 5 on the bear which killed me. I wa sgood left to right but high. I just misjudged him, thought he was farther.
