It can be done I was out scouting for deer last aug for the archery season and glassed up a lion chasin a deer over a hill across from me. I made a three quarter mile loop called for thirty min and she showed up 40 yards below me. I was using a fawn distress on an open Reed call. Dropped her dead in her tracks. Merely two months later me and a buddy went on the oct bear hunt first stand in the mornin 30 sec into the stand a lion barreled over the hill in front of me.. I moved out of the way and my buddy had his first lion.. This was used with the same fawn distress sound and both were in 2013.

I called in two lions last year with a Circe long range call in a fawn bleat sound, one lion was chasing a deer and blew the stalk I made a half mile loop and made a stand in the canyon she dropped into after 30 min she showed up at 30 yards I was able to harvest her. A few weeks later during a bear hunt me and my friend set up on a stand I called a bear in and harvested last year (same call) after just 40 seconds of callin a lion showed up and posed on a rock at 175 yards my friend made the shot, I'm a firm beliver I'm the Circe fawn sound for larger predators

To me it just depends on what units and what hunts when you ask that question. To me I tend to hunt units that don't have as good genetics or a lesser bull to cow ratios. Although there still are 380 bulls on occasions anything over 250 don't get a pass from me. Draw odds are fair and there's nothin like chasing elk. I've taken lots of bulls and they're all trophys to me. One of the smaller ones I took on an archery hunt is my most memorable took him on my last day and last hour of a 14 day hunt. My trophies are more measured by the experienceces of the hunt. It's true it's all about what you wanna shoot and have been greatful there are no antler restrictions.
