    Volkswagen bug

"Super Beetle" had a curved windshield. I can't tell from the pic but the 69' and up had better rear suspension for catching air on gas line roads. I owned 2 63's (one chopped to a Baja) and a 65' back in the day. Fun and cheap to work on. Funny story. My 63' was my daily driver in high school. I had 2 jobs at the time as well. I had a "gathering" at my folks house one night when they were out of town and one of my friends took my bug to resupply libations. When he brought it back, he said it was stuck in second gear. I tried everything to pop it out of second and it wasn't happening. I had to be to work at 4 AM the next day. There happened to be a friend at this gathering who had a 63' "Baja" with a bad motor. I didn't have the all of cash he wanted but he said he would give me the car and hold the title until I paid in full. That was good enough for me. We hitched my dad's homemade dolly to my stepmoms 79' T-bird and went to his house. It was knocking like heck and actually split the case on the motor and puked all of the oil when we pulled it onto the dolley. Me and my best pal swapped the motor and license plate from my car that night and I drove it to work the next day. I even got pulled over a few days later because the Baja was lacking mirrors. I handed the cop my registration from the other car and he wrote me a fix it ticket and sent me on my way! Simpler times for sure.

    500 Rounds 38 Special (I think cheap)

I see a mix of brass all with the same bullet. I don't think Remington or Winchester ever made a plus "P" semi-wad cutter. Still a solid deal, though not something I would shoot through an antique or prized revolver.

So, I shot my chronograph today

Honestly, I don't know any serious shooter, handloader ,or reloader that hasn't executed a chrono. They do a dangerous job as we all know. At least it wasn't a buddy with an apple on his head. Congratulations are in order! You have completed one of the required missions to join an elite group of enthusiasts.
  4. "I KNOW WHAT I GOT" Nice catch, I didn't find that one for some reason.
  5. I saw that. OP is so hit and miss for me. Plus it says ships within 18-27 days? At least they don't say it's in stock when it's not anymore.
  6. Tucson but I'm in the valley for work at least twice a week lately. Monday I'm bound for Papago park area with a stop in Tempe (Kyrene and Elliott) first, which may afterward include a stop in the east valley (Power and University) on the way to San Tan (Right by the Pork Shop for burritos of course), returning through Coolidge. Tuesday we are headed for Tortilla Flat area via Florence and AJ most likely. If things get crazy Monday at the Papago location, we may head to Tonopah for parts and scratch East Valley....see what I have to deal with? I'll pay shipping one way if I'm buying or both ways if I'm borrowing or renting if we can't meet up somehow. It should fit in a small flat rate USPS box no problem.
  7. I can't find any in stock anywhere or even a used one on EBAY and I have a couple of sluggers going tritium/fiber optic. I would prefer to own it but if I can rent one for a bit, that will do.
  8. They said I could be anything I want. As long as I am a man of my word, I'm okay with it.
  9. Well, I have this belt buckle to show for my efforts anyway.
  10. You sonofabich. In the nicest way of course.

    Nautilus Home Gym - SOLD

My user name is a bit of self deprecating humor. No one has ever called me that to my face for some weird reason though.

best steakhouse and pizza in Prescott area

My lady asked what I wanted to do for my birthday a few years back and I told her I wanted to go to Prescott to pick up in person a custom pistol I had ordered from Suarez International. I asked them where to go for dinner and they hands down recommended The Colt. It's a good thing we (she) planned ahead and got the birthday seggs done before dinner. That's all I'm saying.

    AR 10 cycling issues

Was the rifle in question built or purchased complete or complete upper or lower? Not much to check with the lower except the trigger/hammer. As others have suggested, it may be under gassed because of poor gas block alignment. It may also be over gassed so much that the bolt is bouncing. What length gas system does it run? Is the gas block pinned or set screw? Are the set screws dimpled if not pinned? What recoil system does the gun have( carbine/rifle/fixed/ adjustable), do you happen to know the weight of the buffer? I found the first one I built to be pretty harsh on recoil but still function properly with a mid length gas and carbine buffer system. I changed the buffer system to A5 configuration and added 3 ounces to the buffer and a braided spring and she is smooth now. A carbine gas/carbine buffer combo REQUIRES an adjustable gas block IMHO. I built mine with an adjustable gas block, got the gas dialed in to lock back on empty and I haven't changed it since. Even monkeying with the recoil system afterwards has not required any adjustment to gas.
