Recordbooks

There are numerous recordbooks that accumulate records on Coues Whitetail.  For rifle hunters, the most common book is the Boone and Crockett recordbook.  For archery hunters, there is the Pope and Young book.  Records for animals killed by muzzleloaders are kept in the Longhunter Society recordbook put out by the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association.  For those that hunt shed antlers there is the North American Shed Hunters club that maintains a recordbook.  I am a measurer for all these clubs and would be glad to score any big game animal for their recordbooks.  If you live in Arizona and want something scored, send me an email: amanda@coueswhitetail.com.  You may also click on the links for each recordbook to find a list of official measurers in your area.

There are also recordbooks that keep track of trophies from Arizona. You can order a copy of Arizona Big Game Trophies to look at state records.  For bowhunters check out "Bowhunting in Arizona".

Each book has it's own set of minimum scores that must be achieved to get into the book.  All of these hunting clubs also have a list of ethics, commonly referred to as fair chase rules, that must be followed in order for the animal to be allowed entry into the book.

THEY'RE HERE!!!!!  The top 5 typical and non-typical Coues in the Boone and Crockett Recordbook.  The Boone and Crockett club has graciously agreed to allow me to post pictures and score information on the top 5 Coues deer in each category.  Click on the buttons to the left  or below to see the bucks.

Top 5 Boone and Crockett Non-typical Coues Deer

Please visit the Boone and Crockett website for information about the club.

Roger Selner of Trophy Show Productions has graciously allowed me to post pictures and information about bucks that he features in his trophy deer display.  This deer display travels throughout the year to many of the major sportsmen's shows around the country.  He has numerous huge mule deer and white-tailed deer in his collection.  When I get a copy of the schedule for his next shows, I will post it.

Eventually I hope to be posting the same information for the top 10 records from the North American Shed Hunters recordbook.  Sometimes the big bucks get away to live another day, but at least you can have their sheds.

Thank you to all the clubs for taking the time to gather that information for us.  Please visit their websites and show your support by becoming a member of their clubs.  Clicking on the graphics below or the text links above will take you to their websites.

Please be patient while this section is developed.  It will take time to get the photos and scores for each club and category.
