Took my daughter out this morning for her 2nd pig hunt. Glassed up a herd right off the bat, put the sneak on them and after pursuing them for a little ways this bore stood up out of his bed and she shot him at about 75 yards. I'm super proud of her, she's the cheerleader type of girl but a couple years ago I talked her into giving hunting a try, I think I got her hooked😀

That made absolutely no sense. But it's ok, I understand. You got called out and are flustered and frustrated because you have no answer. I am certain there is a campus nearby that has a corner and a coloring book set aide for you. Run along now.

Like beating a dead horse.......they aren't wild, they aren't regulated.......they are a problem that is being ignored!!!!

I drive the Bush Highway often and it’s usually early in the day. I see people parked on the side of the road filming or taking pictures of these Horses. Sometimes they’re only 20’ away. You can tell they’re thrilled to be there. I laugh to myself almost every time because the wild animals I know won’t let you get 20’ away talking and making all kinds of movement and the passing vehicles spook the animals I consider wild. I try to figure out what can make a person so stupid as to consider these wild animals and the only thing I can come up with is that these people are city people and can’t think like we do. To them, they’re called wild horses on the tv, well damit, they’re wild.

I remember this from when I was a kid. The Federal law that protects the horses and burros was intended to protect the horses and burros left by the Spanish conquistadors and settlers not the feral animals that are all over the place. This is where my memory gets foggy, I think it was after public outcry after the movie with robert redford called the electric horseman where he releases some million dollar horse in nevada to be free with some mustangs. See politicians have always been wimpy, pandering, self righteous babies.

Man, this topic went south fast! Love it! I am a horse owner and grew up in a ranching family and I HATE the feral horse plague. Cattle are regulated. When a cow escapes, the rancher loses money. Does it still happen? Yes. There are a lot of people that make money rounding up rogue cattle and selling them because the have monetary value. Horses are not native, plain and simple. AZBH88, do you shed a tear when you see people mowing down herds of FERAL hogs? If horses looked like hogs, nobody would blink an eye if they were shot

Hey, azbirdhunter88 I know livestock as well and I hate to burst your bubble but horses are harder on the landscape than cattle. muledeerarea33 is right. If you put a horse in a corral with nothing to eat but a mesquite tree, it would eat that tree down to the stump before it starved. Put a cow in the same corral and it will starve before it eats the tree (other than the leaves). They are harder on the landscape. Take a look down by the Salt River and try to find a mesquite bean lower than a horses head (can't). Try and find a decent group of Mule Deer down there (can't). Horses have pushed them out........This was not the case 5-10 years ago. Those Feral REZ Pony's need to GO. Horses are nonnative they were brought by the Spaniards

Typical government, throw money at the symptom rather than solve the underlying problem.

The burros and horses are just stockpiled food for when the economy gets to rough in my book.

Explain it to me cuz you’re not making any sense the horses in the 3s escaped during the rodeo fire for the most part

That’s against the law and whenever a horse is killed it’s front page news.

Hunters and other people don’t manage it. Neither does azgfd. Someone should though

Im assuming that you look down on anyone who made a mistake and payed for it. There are good people in prison and bad people that are not in prison.
  23. 1 point
I have said it before. Feed them to the inmates in the state prisons. Win win for everyone.

the horses on our Arizona ranges serve zero purpose other than the few folks who drive around to photo them. I just don't get people at times, zero common sense on issues. Same goes for the hundreds and hundreds of burros, the larger issue is people though, we are on a one way road as humans to really just ruin this whole dam ride
