Thanks for all the info guys its been a great help. eyeguards, My dad is on Tonto Rim Search and Rescue everyone needs to take your advise. I ALWAYS carry a map and compass along with my GPS. I did learn that you can not always rely on just your GPS. Marked my truck one day and 2D was the best I could get with the tree and cloud cover. Lucky enough I knew were I was at because when I did the Goto to head back to the truck it told me it was 2 miles in the wrong direction. So it can happen and I had been using it for about 2 years and thought I know everything about it. Thanks Again everyone for your help!

Do any of you guys have this software. I wanted to know if it just did the Natinal Parks or does it cover more of the state? Thanks Bownut

Hey Elkhunter Now i do not feel to bad posting my little buck from last year. I see all these guys with these huge coues and think WOW! I have seen big bucks but just never had a chance to connect with one.But this was the first buck I was able to take with my son with me so it was a memorable buck for me. Well with a little art work I don't feel so bad LOL!!!!!!!!!!

Well Shoot I guess I should have done some more research. I wanted to be able to download the topo maps of my hunting areas to my GPS. I had a Garmin 12 and just bought the 60c thinking it could be done. Went to order it and saw it said National Parks. But live and learn I guess. Thanks for your help eyeguards

I've always thought it made the arrow less forgiving? I remember being told the longer vanes were better for hunting situations due to the increased forgiveness and the shorter vanes were more suited to target shooters? Is that true? JIM> Yes this is true with most small vanes. But the blazer vanes were made for broadheads. I did not believe they would work until I tried them. I have shot 100gr Montecs at 300fps with blazers out to 50yards with no problems at all.

Hey Bret They do what the long vanes do but with out the added weight of the long vanes. Less weight at the nock end makes more F.O.C. weight and better arrow flight. Also makes the arrow a little lighter for more speed or flatter shooting bow.

If you do use alcohol use denatured alcohol. This is what we use and it works great.

Hey Dave I ended up 404 for the weekend. Just tried to play it safe for the Triple Crown buckle and did get that. I think I ended up tied for 4th or 5th for the Happening. There were some great shooters this year. Got to hang out with some new and old friends it was a great time! Iam sure I will see you around sometime.

After the comp. shoot and a bite to eat I will be in the first booth on the right as you come in the tent most of the day. I will be the good looking blond guy in the black Hoyt hat.LOL!! Hopefully I will still have a smile on my face after shooting. Hope I can meet some of you in person.

Dave I find it much easier to catch up than stay in the lead alot less pressure. I love the lake its the other course I don't do as well with.

Red Rabbit, I am sitting in first for the Triple Crown in the Hunter Class by 15 points. It would be nice to get both but would be very very happy with one. But as we all know in this sport anything can happen as I learned this weekend in Sunrise. Just need to shoot my best and what happens happens. Dave, I wish I could have added wrong in my favor but they double score!LOL!!

Red Rabbit, I shot 2 the first day 149 with 2- 0's and 3 on Sun 170. I can not remember the last time I missed a target completely let alone 2. The up and downhills killed me I think. Redman, That was my truck parked behind the building all weekend. Kinda funny the fun shoot courses got lots of rain and we just got a sprinkle on the comp. course Sun. just over the hill.

This was great shoot. Some of the best courses I have shot. Just wish my scores showed it. I did ok the 2nd day but the first day was a humbling experience. I did not get a chance to shoot the fun courses but sounds like you guys had fun. I hope to get off work to go next year but the holidays are hard to get off. This was my first year to make it there and can not wait to go back.

Whats wrong with USO I book hunts with them all the time. NOT!!!!!! downthebarrel17, Welcome once again. I think the next 5 years or so will tell a lot. I for one feel that what we enjoy "I hate the word "SPORT" will get to the point were the average guy will not be able to afford to hunt. You know the population will continue to grow but I do not think jobs in the state will keep up and the growth should slow down. I hope. We keep growing Monster Bulls and Huge Bucks here and we will never get drawn or be able to afford it! LOL!!!!

There were a few guys from NM there the last couple years. The guy that won the hunter class last year is from Farmington I believe. He is in second this year there are some great shooters there in NM. Usery Mountain Archers is having a warm up shoot the Sunday before the Williams shoot if anyone is interested let me know. This will be an early morning shoot before it gets to hot.

I can not wait myself. BUT always remember the little guys. Keep your local guys in business.
