Ok my sierra book is older but for Varget powder it shows 40.2 as starting point and 42.2gr as the max load for 168gr bullet. Then I was messing around on the Hodgdon site and Varget starts at 42gr and 46gr for a max load. This seems to be a huge difference. I have seen data very a grain or so but never this much. Not sure which to go by now the bullet manufacture or the powder?

Sorry for being slow at responding. Just got to Vegas with the wife. Don't have the Sierra load data but this is from the powder manufacturer. My sierra manual is the 50th year addition. Thanks for the replies guys. Learning a lot. -

Why does every post have to turn into an ethics thing? Hopefully he is right where you saw him last. Heck in October I found my deer walked back to grab my pack I had left 500 yards away and had to circle twic to find a deer I had already had my hands on. And that was in the daylight. It's amazing how things change when you get there especially in the dark.

So if they mailed them out Friday we should start having tags in the mail tomorrow. Probably got tired of peaple still itching even though they post results early every year so why not just make us waited until we get them in the mail.

Why not!Just curious why you feel it's you job to ask!
-
I know the feeling. I have the same tag.

Not much going on there right now. Pretty quiet. Haven't seen a snake yet. Lots of rain the last few days.

Baiting deer isn't illegal- read your regs Umm yes it is.

I carry one with me. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. In 2010 I had a bull tag and didn't really have much luck with it so I used other calls. Last year same area I hunted in 2010 it was one of the best calls in my pack.

I would let your scouting trips tell you what you should settle on. If you are seeing a 100" buck or two hold out. If all you have seen is 70" bucks I would shoot the first 80. 80" in most guys eye's is a great buck. Especially for a first coues.

Awesome! Congrats on the tag. My nephew drew the same tag with 2 point. Got to love the point system! I also drew the same unit but in October. Should be a totally different hunt in October. Good luck and again congrats on a great tag.
