I thought everyone answered hadn't seen a thing and hunting sucks when folks are obviously prying for info. And if they keep at it, I'll start outright lying.

Grass and weeds/catclaw are epic tall. Gonna be interesting. Shooting prone will be hard to rely on and you better glass the right angle or you may not see them...

I load 130 VLDs in mine with ADG, CCIs, and H4831sc....

On Saturday morning, 2 of the 5 bucks I saw were very freshly hard horned. All bucks seen Sunday still in velvet. This in southern AZ. Think it's a day by deal thing now...

I wrap my spotter inside a lightweight sock. Been doing this for many years now...

Can absolutely do that if hunting a single deer or hunting from basecamp for an extended period. My point was that there are other things to carry/not carry that would influence my optics decision as well as my hunt strategy...

For me, it would depend on if you are hauling water or have a source..... If a true backpack hunt and not packing water I bring the big glass, 15's, stable tripod and bigger spotter. Extra weight of bigger glass will save you mikes. If weight really is a issue or water packing, its 12x on my neck and doubles on tripod, my small ultralight tripod, and the small Kowa 554 spotter....

Just take the dove out. Tastes the same and way less work. Grin....

What species are you referring to? Deer will be and are better than elk. .. Coues should be really good.....

I just want to say that was one of the dumbest decisions I've made. Conversations about bailing due to heat/humidity at night were serious and real even though we were way in. I'll spare you the details....

It'll be brown but it's waist high in lots of areas. I'm getting chiggers on my belly and fixing to go a 2 night backpack scout in this heat. I'm likely an idiot...

And bugs, heat, humidity, they hardly moving due to feed, hard to see when up due to growth, etc... Only the serious guys are out. Also, only the biggest bucks are close to finishing....

Minimum of 10 years to work the kinks out....
