I decided to try a little different approach Saturday night. I smoked a rib eye on my Traeger for 1 -1/2 hours, vac packed and sous vide cooked it at 119 for another hour or so... it doesn't matter on that time. Hit it with the hot griddle at 500 on the Traeger again to sear. It was the best steak I have cooked ever! Will be doing again, but next up will be elk burgers the same way. Sorry no pics, I ate the subject really fast.

Textron is the manufacturer, they purchased Arctic Cat. I havent known anyone who has owned one though so cannot comment on quality or reliability.

Anyone have one sitting around that they want to get rid of? It must be set up for broad heads. I looked at the Tarantula on Cabalas, that would work. I remember the old Chuck Adams model my buddy had, he paid a bloody fortune for it and used it one hunt.

I once dove on the boat that was capsized in San Carlos around 15 years ago. We did a day trip, and it was a converted shrimper made into a "dive" boat with overnight quarters. It was the most top heavy boat I had ever been on. It made me nervous at anchor on calm seas during the daylight. It supposedly got hit by a "rogue wave" and went down in deep waters with only two survivors out of around 16 on a New Years over night trip. That was in Mexico where there are not many safety standards. For this accident to happen in American waters there will be repercussions for sure.

find water. Unit 8 is a dust bowl, with no rain in sight. I am sure 9 is the same or drier. Cows and calves will be hitting water probably daily. Once the rut starts the bulls will be close by. I helped on a hunt in 2016, we saw almost all elk near water before the hunt and only one bull. Rut started, bulls appeared like magic. Good Luck on the hunt, should be a great year for antler growth. We saw some giants in 2016, so this year should be better if that's possible. PM me if you want some starting points.

Turtle skins are hot as well. Anything that's dense enough to stop a fang or cactus thorn is not going to breathe worth a crap. I'll take sweaty calves and soggy socks over antivenom treatment or worse any day.

GF and the feds can spend money rounding them up and plunking them down on the prairie at the House Rock but, those animals are going to remember that it is cooler and safer on top and go back. It wont take them any time at all to be back where they started. Fences are meaningless to them.

Not at all... As said, it may be a better thing, they dumped a bunch of hunts in a row during the summer a few years ago, and it seems that they have had pretty decent success on them for the most part. One year of a return to what used to be a normal winter, with limited access for most, and now they are looking at changing them back to more closely resemble the old hunt structures. At a loss of over 12k in revenue due to the cut in tag numbers. Considering how many coues. tags they dumped on southern units after the "survey", it is a nice change in direction for the AZGF. I do feel for those people who are up around 30 pt.s trying for bull tags.The wait may get longer. I agree, the tags will most likely increase in price as soon as they get a chance to change them.

I'm not saying the changes would be bad. I was commenting that I find this contrary to the usual actions of the GF and their "hunter opportunity" argument with the southern deer tags. Now they are more concerned with hunter happiness? Quite the switch IMHO.
