So thankful that me or my friends never feel the need to post everything on social media. A friend of mine who is a High School coach tells me all the time that rules are put in place to use them to your advantage.

****Sold**** Double bull matrix 360 ground blind
knothead replied to Hunterbrett's topic in Classified Ads
I am the only owner of an original T5 that I will take $500 for. Used less than 5 times, in excellent condition and always kept in my garage. Comes with carry bag and extra screen meshing. North Peoria -
G&F shut down unit 19B antelope 7 or 8 years back. This was not due to fire or anything but more to do with access being locked up by landowners if I remember correctly. They have since drastically reduced the number of tags they issue.

Check out all the school districts through out the valley. Most if not all are hiring. I was just told yesterday from a friend of mine at Fed Ex that they are always hiring and can't keep people. Check out the new desert diamond casino as well by Cabelas. On the bright side, if there was ever a good time to be looking for a job, now is it. Lots of work available for people who are willing to work. Good Luck!

If you had one brand choice for AZ camo set ( pants+ shirt) which would you pick?
knothead replied to Gut Pile's topic in Other Hunting Gear
Not sure camo makes all that much difference. I will admit I have not jumped into "high end" camo pool because Kings camo has served me very well. To the human eye, the stuff that blends in the most to the surroundings is larger pattern stuff with a good mixture of light and dark colors. Leafy wear works really well too. -
I love road hunters. Less guys in the woods with me. I'm way more disappointed to find people in the woods hunting where I am at.

Dave, I'm the opposite of a hater. I have always admired your ability to find good deals and squeeze a penny. The jeep you bought for Kayla comes to mind. Someday, I plan on buying a toy hauler and when I begin looking I am going to call you and put you on the scent because I know if anyone can find a good deal it is you.

Stuff like this reminds me of a story my mother-in-law told me about her sister many years ago. After coming home from grocery shopping, my MIL noticed her sister had 40 or 50 cans of cat food. When my MIL inquired why she had bought so many cans her sister said because they were on sale 10 cans for $1. My MIL reminded her that she did not have a cat but her sister said the deal was so good she could not pass it up. I'll admit I got caught up in the moment and signed up but all it will do is make me spend $ I had not planned on spending. Notags is a shopping DIVA and if there is a good deal to be had he is the man to find out. I have no doubt if you read the credits for Donald Trumps book "The art of a Deal" you would see the name Dave Owens. Thanks for the Info Kevin

As a 24 year public school educator, I can assure you that is not what we are teaching at my school. It may be what you are reading about and some people may actually be living out these life styles but it is not what I teach or would ever teach. IMO the problems with today's youth start at home and not at school. I commend you and your sister for playing an instrumental role in raising your nieces.

Bullies of the range! Well written!
knothead replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in The Campfire
The problem needs to be dealt with sooner or later. It is only getting worse. I will admit, when I first read this title, I thought it was going to be about the Ben Avery range masters. -
+1 for Mike Vaccaro at Head of the Game. Has done an antelope, javelina and a couple european mule deer. I have found everything already mentioned about him to be true.

Headed up Friday afternoon for the SC hunt. Hoping this weather front kind of kicks them in gear. Nothing like the sound of Gobbles on a cool spring morning.
-
I hear people say that all the time about the SC. My experiences have been much different. I have hunted it 6 times over last 10 years and I have yet to have a better hunt than what I have experienced many times on the rim hunts. I mostly hunt it because it works out better for me and work and I also don't have real good luck drawing public land hunts. Out of 6 SC hunts I have taken two birds. Last time I hunted it I saw more bears than tom turkeys. I will admit I used to be a really bad turkey hunter and then I thought I was pretty good but now I think I am back at bad again. Just when I think I have figured them out, I realize just how little I really know. Good Luck

Who is going to San Carlos this spring 2019? I have the 2nd hunt and looking forward to hearing reports from 1st hunt guys. I had to eat my tag last year due to injuring my back as I was loading up for this hunt. I spent 3 days laying flat on my back. I don't know what hurt more, not getting to hunt or my aching back. Good Luck

I hope it collects a lot of dust before it is put to use. Not sure if this riddle works in this case. The one who made it, didn’t want it. The one who bought it, didn’t need it. The one who used it, never saw it. What is it?

Used to draw about every year I applied for archery antelope in the 80's then I started applying for rifle hunts. I finally drew an 18a rifle hunt in 1996 and basically shot the first buck I saw and my hunt was over in first 4 hours. Told myself I would never shoot another antelope with a rifle again and have only hunted them with a bow ever since. In last 22 years I have had two 5B tags(back to back years) and one 19a tag. Still waiting to tag my first Arizona antelope with a bow and arrow.

I guess the state has not been getting the moisture that I thought they were. I was picturing a blanket of white from Williams to Alpine.
