Just got through on website! Unit 9 late cow rife!

I don't know the number, but I used to work for the state. When I would call out, the number appeared as unknown or restricted.

Just got hit for $270! Had 3 bonus points (1 each for Hunter Ed, Species and Loyalty) putting in as a group of 2 for Unit 9 early rifle cow as first choice and 9 late rifle cow for the second choice. Flatlander calculated our odds at about 30% for the early and 100% chance of getting drawn on the late hunt. Looking forward to having some meat in the freezer this fall.

I concur, based on my current understanding of the draw process. It makes sense that all of the current hits are the 20% max bonus point round. Just not sure if it means they will hold off the next round until all are verified or if they can start it before then.

It looks like the waiting is over and we should all know one way or the other in the next week or so. We haven't drawn yet, but hoping to be like Harvard and Dayton today and beat the odds! Congrats to all those that have drawn and those that will draw.

From what I can tell from reading various posts on this forum, it sounds like AZGFD had issues with the online system towards the end of the draw. Some people had their application submissions fail, but then when they went to resubmit, received an error for a duplicate application. Having worked in IT for a few years, it sounds like they have what we call orphaned records (applications missing names, or addresses or hunt choices or something). Basically, they have some messed up applications that are no fault of the applicant. So, it sounds like they are calling people because their system broke and messed up the applications.

I'll be whitetail hunting in Arkansas in November.

..and now it appears to be down again, but this time it's just not letting you select the big game species. This is usually what happens when the close the update feature for good. Sure hope this means they're getting ready to start the draw! Have alerts set on my credit card, so won't have to keep checking it.

I was getting concerned since I haven't seen an e-mail either. So, I went online to the AZGFD online draw site, clicked on the update payment link and made sure my credit card info was in there and it was. So, hope the application is there too.

Can't wait for the results. Sure hope we start getting CC hits early next week.
