It is seasonal, but in the winter there is a guy in Quartzsite that makes killer buffalo burgers. The name is Randy's Burgers. He used to open up a shop at Stone Cabin (25 miles south of Quartzsite) and sell burgers and all sorts of souvenirs but the windows and door got all busted out of the old building there so he just sets up shop in Quartzsite every winter. I don't know if the burgers are really that good or if hunting most of the day and running in for a burger makes them taste better than they are but dang its good eating. If you have never experienced a January day in Quartzsite, you will meet some interesting people and be able to eat some really good food. It is a pretty happening town in the winter.

A few snakes

Had a buddy who back in April moved to a new property and was checking on a pipe that was run underground from a pump on the property. This is where the pipe came out so he stuck his head in it for some dang reason and almost got a rattlesnake kiss. If it was a couple months later, he would've been smacked right on the kisser. Dang things are so camouflaged sometimes. -
If he was charged with something, wouldn't it show up on public access? I know different people in my area who got in trouble with game and fish for off roading, poaching, shooting from vehicles etc... and it all shows on their records.

I hunt the desert flats so there isn't much for brush. There are some thicker washes we walk but you can get through the brush pretty easily.

Those wrangler outdoor pants are tough to beat for the price. I wear the shorts for fishing and pants out hunting and love em.

What happens when the anti's call and report "harvests" for deer and the quotas fill? No rut hunting in the desert units. Does that happen with bear and lion at all? Just something that crossed my mind.

I am happy to get my buck today. I love hunting these desert mule deer.

Thanks guys! I’m pumped to have him and with the current law in place in AZ, this will be my last one I harvest that I will have on trail camera.

I haven't seen a thread about the rut so far. The last 3 weeks have been a whirlwind in my house because of our whole family getting covid but I am itching to get out and look for deer. I've got some friends that have been out and the rut activity is going in certain pockets. A lot of smaller bucks pushing and mounting does. The bigger bucks coming in and out of the herd, not quite committed to controlling the does yet. Then there are some bucks that are running in pairs and small 3-5 buck bachelor herds and herds of does without any bucks around them. January is my favorite time of year to hunt. Good luck to those that are out hunting and trying to punch their December tag and good luck to the guys starting over in January.

Has anybody heard if any of the 6 lucky hunters that drew tags for the new hunt has filled any of their tags? Just curious to see what they got. I know some of you wish you had a rifle in your hands during the last few weeks so I'd imagine the guys that drew the deer tags should have a great chance at a giant.

Couldn't get this link to upload but the other upload was fantastic. Great looking buck. Awesome mass on him. Thanks for sharing.

The "Special Hunt" Success???
Yuma Outdoorsman replied to Yuma Outdoorsman's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
I read on another website that one of the coues tags was filled with a buck under 90” and one of the bull tags was filled with a small bull. Good for those hunters on filling the tags. -
Heck ya dude! Great buck! Congratulations!!!

Man that sounds amazing. Hope you stick one soon!

Hopefully you get another shot at him.

I wish they would ban guides.

Well, 2021 was an interesting hear. I had one of the best fishing seasons I have ever had. Winning several local tournaments and winning a Wild West Bass Trail tournament in Havasu with a good buddy of mine. I also was lucky enough to partner up with a lifelong buddy and we were AOY for a local Rod and Gun Club. Then, the luck followed into the rifle deer season and I was able to knock down a solid buck that I had on camera. He isn't the 200" buck we all dream about but I was so happy to have him. I wish everybody much success this upcoming hunting and fishing season and I hope every one has a great 2022.

Hopefully you can find him, I know the odds are tough with rain coming but I am rooting for ya to find him.

A buddy of mine up in 20C is scouting for his pig hunt and said he saw a herd of 12 does with a nice 3x3 and the buck was pushing the does very aggressively. He left his bow in camp because he was just headed to town to get some stuff they forgot and the buck pushed the does across the road in front of them at 60 yards, didn't even care they were sitting there watching. He is kicking himself now. He is going to try and pick them up again tomorrow morning and make a play.

Has anybody seen any deer that have come out of this unit this year? I was anxious to see some giants that were shot but nobody has posted anything. Probably because they want to keep it hush hush with it only being 15 tags but I think word will get out.
