In 34a now. Glassed up over 20 doe across several groups not a single buck with them (WT).

Taking my daughter down to 34a next week for rifle Coues. Ran those hills quite a bit for archery but it’s hard to get those bucks on those hills with a bow. Looking forward to improving our odds with the 7 mag lol
hows the pre rut looking in the southern units? If I had to guess I’d say big boys are still hiding given the heat and dryness but my guesses usually suck…

Looks like a darker cotamundi.

if you get that lion killed big bucks may come back in there. Clearly a big buck area right there.

Looks like he was in the transition area.

I was hunting in the flag area. Hunted for 9 days. Overall the rut was slow. Always some bugling where we were at and I was all over the unit, but it was barely enough to give you a shot to give chase. I would not call it a rut crazed buglefest.
Bugles seemed to end right after first light or maybe 45 mins later As to water, seemed like bulls were coming in after dark more and more as the hunt went on which is to be expected as the moon went from dark/new to more brightOn aggregate bulls were call shy. Herd bulls were running away from calls protecting their cows. Satellite bulls were callable here and there but it was inconsistent.
my theory on all this is the conditions we’re very very good with respect to water and feed. So much so I think the elk were very spread out and with this there was less competition for the cows. I never saw a bull with a huge harem. Maybe one bull had 10-12 cows. Most had 3-5 it seemed like.
hopefully the rut kicks in harder this week for the guys still getting after it.
as to us, we had chances each day and passed a bunch of bulls. Wednesday and Thursday sucked though due to high winds. Seemed to shut it all down and things got back to normal after that small front passed through. I wasn’t going to take a small bull and was perfectly fine with my 5 star tag soup dish. Mmmm….good.

Excellent shape. The suspension is S/M size and the frame size is regular. No blood, stains or tears. Has the rifle sling and hook as well as two pouches for the hip belt. Also has a waterproof cover.
Just checked Kuiu site and to replicate this setup would be over $800.
Asking $500. Located in Queen Creek area.

I have a bunch of camo that is good as new for the most part and would be a great kit for an up and coming youth hunter (or smaller adult).
Given it’s all the same size I’d prefer to sell it as a lot. All is located in Queen Creek and I could meet halfway within reason.
item 1: slightly insulated jacket with hood. No rips or stains
item 2: insulated coveralls with a soft and warm flannel like material Cabelas brand
item 3: walls insulated coveralls with a hood Waterproof, wind proof, and breathable Red Head Mountain Stalker
item 4: Insulated bibs The camo pattern is slightly faded on these but all else is good Walls is the branditem 5: uninsulated Walls bibs
item 6: two pairs of real tree rustic ride pants uninsulated
item 7: three long sleeve camo shirts Walls brand
all items are size medium adult and if applicable regular length
looking for $350 for everything
thx

Any suggestions on groups to donate to? Is there something aimed at sick kids?

Wife can’t hunt. Going to surrender her late 34a tag. Let us know who gets it.

There is a bird that flies like 150 mph. Forget the name.
