  1. My go to marinade for mako shark steaks:

    1 cup orange juice

    3 tablespoons of olive oil

    2 tablespoons of soy sauce

    4 chopped garlic cloves

    1/2 chopped onion

1 teaspoon of red pepper flake

    Salt and pepper to taste

Marinate for an hour or two

Grill 5 min a side over medium high heat and baste with leftover marinade

  2. After a few going thru a couple Foodsavers from Costco, I went with the "Big Game" heavier duty model (if that's even a thing). Seems to be holding up after 3 years and countless uses sealing up some elk cuts, quail, ducks, stripers, store bought chicken, t-bones, sous vide, etc. I ended up finding it on sale at Amazon for $125 and spent the extra $5 for a warranty. Zero issues so far and has a 12V if needed. For bags, I also been using knockoffs for years. No issues with those either. I can absolutely see the need for a commercial model, but so far, this seems to be working well.

All the name brand stuff is gonna stay in package. I'll probably return a lot of the expensive stuff since I need to take the left hand reel back anyway.  Im worried the fathom reels wont come in time though.

What kind of left hand reel are you returning?

I bought some in payson a few days ago.  What optic did you go with on the osp?  I put the holosun on mine.  Love it.

Three options. Burris FF3, Venom or Holosun. Leaning towards the Burris. But would like to see in person. Running into the same issues, not being able to find one locally.

What are you shooting it thru?

If you're just plinking, folks on other shooting forums swear they can shoot the .40 without issue. One fellow on Glock Talk claims he has shot 2500 .40s thru his 10mm Glock without a single issue.

I'm not recommending it, I'm just passing along the 411.

Breaking in a Springfield XDm OSP, so just target ammo. I would prefer to shoot 10MM ammo, thank you though.

  6. I was up there last weekend. It was busy, no question and very windy. Fished the north side of the lake, one in our group picked up a decent rainbow trout on orange pb. I threw a a few panther martins, no takers. But I would say, definitely bring a craw trap. Raw chicken and I had more than enough for a good boil. Camped much further away from the lake and didn't see really any traffic.

  7. If you're looking for AGM batteries, check out East Penn near 59th Ave south of I-10. They have Deka AGM's (group 27) for around $100. They are blemished (missing a handle, scratched, etc) but are otherwise new. I run them in my bass boat and have been for 7 years or so. Still going strong. Solid deal.

  8. Hiked and fished the East Verde this weekend, 2nd and 3rd Crossing. On Thursday afternoon, there were at least 30 cars parked on the side of the road at Water Wheel. Drove Houston Mesa up to Control road and down to the 260....there was a ton of people in each campsite along the Control road. I can only imagine what WCL is going to look like when it hits 107* in the valley this week.
