  1. Coming out of St David just a bit ago a young couple took out the front end of their Ford fusion.  We saw airbags deployed and stopped to see if they were ok.  Right at mile marker 310, couldn't be any more exact actually because the cat bounced off the car and took the mile marker sign out.  IMG_20231219_152526.thumb.jpg.cbacbbaa7d2958167335731cb85ddb57.jpgIMG_20231219_152517.thumb.jpg.8cf73946162d8869ab55642af0248374.jpgIMG_20231219_152653.thumb.jpg.b2ab684ef2253f925029acf726ad2a52.jpg

Agreed, but reminds me of the story recently where a dude went by posted hunt dates from a 3rd party source and was hunting (or was about to hunt out of the correct dates). I could be wrong but I think they killed a cow.

  3. You're lucky to have a youngster bit by the bug! I got a grip of kids and the first 2 are ok with hunting but not addicted.  My third is hooked though so I'm excited.  My fourth and fifth I hope just wanna be like their older siblings which seems to be the case so far. Fingers crossed.

Congrats on a great hunt with your boy!

My buddy took a 32 foot scissor lift on a flat bed trailer and hunted from it. He was hunting off of Freeman road near Oracle. He would raise and glass from it until he spotted something. It worked at least twice. He stuck a giant 5x5 and the next year a 4x4. When your down in the flats even a couple inches of height makes a big difference

    Ted Nugent style!

Seems you lose some of the advantage of using a regular SUV as your hunting rig when you trailer it like a side by side?

Depends how you camp i would think.  Family hunts I'm towing a camper but if tent camping easy peasy.  But yeah, I wouldn't want to tow my hunting vehicle most of the time

  6. Yeah 23 you are a long way off.  Looks like you are g2g for 6a.  Be warned though, northern units you have a lot less deer to look at overall compared to the southern units.  So if you glass all morning and don't see a coues and are ok with that have at it.  I love to hunt but when I glass animals few and far between it drives me mad.  Even if I know its expected. I'm just impatient.  If that's good with you cool, if you don't embrace the grind I would go with a late tag in a southern unit.  If you don't see deer everyday you are probably doing something wrong. I live in a southern unit and I'm spoiled though. 10 minutes drive and I can glass..

  7. I'm wanting to do the same thing but I want a ladder up top and grate like material on the surface up there so I can glass from the roof. Most of where I hunt that extra 6 feet or whatever opens up a lot of glassing area.

Rzrs are awesome but I'd rather not freeze and blow brown boogers every few hours.
