My 243 barrel had a lot of room left and I didn't like the way it looked. I'm not sure on the barrel size but its definitely larger than standard.

I was on a hunt in unit 1 in dec of 2016 and my friend shot a bull very similar to that. Ill try and find a pic..but I think that spikes rack is screwed for life.

I got my can in, roughly 9 months for me. That was with a trust

Im too stupid to understand but if a deer or elk jumped under my truck I would take it home
-
I would pick the samurai route. Mine fits in my toyhauler and its street legal. I also use it as a grocery getter on the weekends to keep the engine running and not just sitting for weeks on end (like I used to do with my atv)

Im waiting on mine. I was told about a year. Im halfway there and I cant wait to get it. Three of my friends that have them said 10-12 months is what they waited for and this was all in the last two years.

That looks good. Mine should be similar. I bought the bottom metal kit so Ill have a 5 and 10 round detachable magazine. And Ill also be going with a ss barrel with a blued action.

Thanks for all the info. Looks like Ill be going with Craigs custom rifles out of Tucson. When its all finished up Ill post up pics.

Can a bullet go too fast to expand?
AZBull replied to MMACFIVE's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Ive shot a javelina in the heart with a 55gr vmax that did too much damage...out of a 223. Just saying. I dont know if there is a velocity factor but it was at 5 yards. -
I will deal this guy for sure. Ive had a few friends get their rifles worked on by him...as long as he will take up my project. As far as sanding the barrel channel I think that should be easy...its free floated like you wouldnt believe. I literally think I have a featherweight barrel for a 223 instead of a 300...and the barrel is marked new haven, ct. when it comes to shooting I always let it cool down between shots. I did shoot three shots in under a minute when I was shooting at steel and thats when I realized how hot she really got

Im not sure what the real round count is. It is more than likely over 1500 and i have no clue what the expected life should be. The barrel is extremely thin. I think I measured it out @ .550 and it gets super hot after just 3 rounds. Im willing to carry the extra few pounds for a thicker barrel and it should also help with the recoil. As far as cleaning goes I think I got it cleaned really well..at least as far as I can tell. Im not sure if my handloads had an effect on the barrel life either, Ive been running some pretty stout loads through it.

Thanks for the info. Looks like Ill be saving up a couple hundred more dollars and get it done right.
