Someone mentioned it earlier I think it’s a social media thing, people see big antlers and and want to go out for it. Which I don’t have a problem with but hopefully the left overs can back to where they were in a couple years.

I don’t think it’s going to happen, with limited tags throughout the west...

it’s a sad thing and I feel for the young generations...

No poverty left over tags and insta celebrities selling 120” elk sheds for $2500. I don’t want to hunt on this planet anymore.

After the ram hunt i mean. Then I don’t want to hunt on this planet.

"tags and insta celebrities selling 120” elk sheds for $2500" Isn't flat brimmed Chester a piece of work?

As usual, Flatlander chimes-in with solid facts.  G&F has definitely done plenty over the past decade or so with hunt dates, stratification, etc.  But clearly, the overall tag numbers remain relatively flat.

I always find it interesting when folks point to "social media" as one of the culprits (often spinning it in a negative way), literally while posting on a social media site. 😂     In all seriousness though, for sure there is MUCH more propagation of information out there now due to the internet.  Also with electronic application process's, it is of course much easier for folks to apply in multiple states to cast a wider net for tags.  Suppose that's just the reality of the world today and in the future.   Can't stop 'progress'....  🙄

Yes, I did post this on social media... The difference is you and I do not get paid by sponsors for our content we post here... Well at I don't, so therefor you or I do not have exploit any hunting places states or potential sleeper units in order to keep follower's and sponsors happy and liking their content...

    It's a double edged sword...

It’s not activists. It’s Instagram pages like Mathews archery that did a film in January telling everyone about seeing 500 deer, it’s pages like hushin that go out of their way to make sure everyone knows the opportunity in AZ, etc. but the funny thing is all the people who think October- early December is anything like January are in for a rude awakening.

    Hushpuppies are the worst
