  1. 3 years ago when My Daughter got into archery, we took some friends out calling yotes. She and I brought along the bows incase we ran into some desert deer. we did and a pretty dang big one. so her and I took off after it.
we were sitting on the side of a hill looking for it to no avail decided to pull out the Varmit call to see if I could call it in or at least get its attention. ended up calling in this Kit Fox . very windy afternoon only shot she had was a head shot I told her to wait she said she would hit it in the throat. and she did. ended up spooking the deer over the next small hill he had bedded down. we went out 4 more days seeing him every time but too far away. still fun being 45 mins from the house.

Been hunting Varmits in this state since 1982 almost every day in the west valley till 94. then not as often in the west valley never called in a kit fox, only saw them at night always in the flats like others say.

last year a buddy of mine shot a ton of them calling in yotes

actually it is, he's still pissed cause the last time he went hunting out of town during the rut, i went to his house and rutted also.

And you got my pet goat pregnant .

your pet goat was already pregnant, don't go blaming that one on me.

congrats to all. let's see a picture of the 400+ and 2 375 together. for all us doubting thomas'.

Wish I had pics of every bull we saw but unfortunately I dont.

not every bull, how about a pic of just one the multiple 375s you saw or just the 400?

I dont have any pics of any bulls we saw this year, only reason I have deer pics is due to they were camp deer or deer we were seeing driving in and out of different spots.

    Multiples?

we only saw 2 bulls that went 375 and one that was over 400+ the rest were just decent ones 320-350. and then the spike and rag horn we kicked up from a bed.

I should probably get me a smart phone one of these days for pics , tried to use my daughters on the 320 something we called in but it didnt work to well too bad cause it was a cool sight to see with her drawing on it.

maybe during squirrels season if we go up I will get you some pics ;)

You bugled in 17 Bulls and the biggest were 2 375" Bulls and a 400 during an archery hunt. This happened, I believe you.

Not that I really care but ok.

I know 3 people on this forum saw them and one guy out of williams area saw them. ;)

Then a hand full of people on i-40 as they walked/trotted across the freeway the next week. Rumor has it they walked back across to the unit 8 side a few days later.

  6. we came back yesterday afternoon.

had a good time as usual my daughter and I , nothing on the ground but hey its hunting not killing

we called in 16-17 bulls in 7 days. they didnt bugle unless you get them going(this year) once you do its a blast

smallest bull we called in was a 320, biggest was a 400+ with 2 375 bulls with it. we did kick up a spike, raghorn and 2 cows out of the bed but no shot. she had one easy givin shot and didnt take it 8-10 yards mid-low 300s. but it was border line being to dark. just wasn't worth it being legal or not. didnt need a flashlight but was dark.

saw some nice muleys and a pretty cool 3x4 drop tine coues deer..then at camp we had some resident decent mullies and that droptine.

one of the funnest calls was a bull that came in about 125 , his cows came to 30 yards to 30 feet. he just wouldnt come in. (dont think he wanted to get his butt kicked by the 3 big bulls in the area) finally I got frustrated picked up a stick and started beating a rock with it. bull dropped his head and came running to 30 yards to the farthest cow stood right in the middle of a bunch of oaks forever. then got pissed and left. too many twigs and branches in the way for a 40lb bow,

She got drawn last year, I got drawn this year and signed it over to her.(last year they were bugling alot, this year nadda unless you got them worked up.

3 bulls we had to bugle every few mins. ( he was one of the 8-10 yard shots) took 30 mins to get him in that close, his buddies came in with in 50 yards and you could just hear them walking. you could get them into 100-150 yards pretty easy but getting them closer was really tough. some bulls just came in and didnt bugle at all.

last year spikes and raghorns were everywhere, this year they were hard to find but the big ones werent.

the pictured one is one of 3 bucks deer that hung at camp.

How they heard it while driving I have no clue. funny as crap though

  8. Justin

    you guys did good congrats.

    Also

I believe you were the guys we talked to sat evening in your camp.? My Daughter wanted to stop by and see your elk cause she saw all the bags of meat hanging on the tree like Christmas Ornaments.

She was pretty impressed. She was talking about putting in for cows next year too. shes not picky just wants an elk. only reason she has a bull tag this year is I gave her mine.Last year 1st year putting in she got the same early bull tag .

oh yeah sunday morning lit up for us we called in 7 big bulls bigger than the one we called in a few miles from you before we met you. only shot she had was a back end gut shot or a hind quarter shot as the rest of the body was in the oaks 30 yards away. this afternoon were probably going to hit that one down the road from you again.

    Again congrats
