I have found that some licks get hit harder than others. The ones I have had the best luck withh are in red soil that is kind of hard. I think the red dirt has some natural minerals in it already. Be advised that there is no baiting allowed in NM and salt would be considered baiting. You are cool in AZ though. Good luck!

all you gotta do is find a pack of lions Lions love Javelina! One of the lions form the pack will marinate the pig in bbq sauce. Another member of the pack will boil the pig in the sauce. While this is happening another one of the lions will dig a pit bbq. The whole pack of lions will wrap the pig in burlap and then bury the pig in the pit . After that the pack will leave the stink pig in the hole and they all eat the sauce.

I think the solution is that everyone that hunts deer should buy a couple of hound pups. It would probably take a couple weeks to train them but from what I hear it's pretty much a piece of cake. Do lions eat anything else besides deer? like javelina?

This is a true story. I was riding my mule in 36b over the wknd minding my own business. I happened upon a small unoccupied UDA encampment in a mesquite thicket. I was creeping along on my trusty steed on guard for any suspicious activity when all heck broke loose. My mule had stepped on a empty tuna can that was left behind as a booby trap! Let me tell you when tin cans get stuck in horseshoes it is going to get western. I lasted the full 8 seconds and the evil plot was foiled but my britches were soiled. My advice to everyone is if you see an empty tuna can duck and run baby.
