Lance when mounting a rail do you feel bedding is necessary? -
JSR how old are you? I am 63 and have no problem navigating this site, separating classifieds from hunting topics.

DuckHunter did you leave your tent up the whole time, if so how did that go? If you put it up and took it down each time how easy was that?

I can recall making a shot on a running buck at around 50/60 yards, it was like shooting flushing quail. All those years of skeet, dove and quail shooting went into that successful shot. Years of muzzleloader matches with mostly off hand shooting built up skills/confidence to make several successful offhand shots. Currently its PRS, NRL22 and small bore silhouette matches to keep my skills up. Years of shooting, hunting go into getting comfortable with what kind of shots present themselves in the field. Good post/point OP.

Never forget the destructive power of "angry and stupid". We are all vulnerable to angry misfits marinated in tribal grudges/hurts riddled with frustration and fed narrow ideologies. jihadis are a cancer to civilized society. God save us from True Believers.

No idea what you would like to trade for. Something stated could help.

Lots of bucks between the Canelo hills and the Harshaw RD south of Patagonia and north of the Valley.

Lee we are pretty close in time frame. I think in 73 at 16 I shot my first buck. My old man must have been forward thinking because his 30-06 SPFD O3 had a 4X lyman scope older than I was mounted on it. We were hunting above Sycamore Canyon just N of the border in unit 36B. Looking forward to my 47th deer season in AZ this fall.

When the grass is up to your butt and when you get up a hillside couple hundred yards from shot it does end up taking some searching around. Last year a newbie in our group got confused after a shot and took a picture the wrong clump of mesquite. Luckily my son kept checking out every likely clump of trees and came up with his buck about 40 min latter. By the time we headed out it was pitch black, 2 miles back in, rough broken oak hills and country new to us as of that AM. Dead reckoning back to camp with about zero ability to reference anything in the dark was a bit of an adventure.

I would go with Bergara Premier Stalker, if that's not in your budget the Tikka. I have a Bergara HMR Pro and it is hands down my best factory rifle, in 6.5C it shoots .35 MOA.

The dems will go after every gun one step at a time. Wacko uses semi auto, go after semi auto. Wacko uses pump/auto shot gun, go after shotguns etc. We have seen this in England, Australia and New Zealand. In the meantime the Dems and Media are against a secure border, against police and will not call out hate speech or violence from the left. Not an atmosphere I want to disarm in.

Sounds great, I'm in.

My first choice for home defense. Light, compact, handy, lower recoil even the ladies can handle. At 20 feet 1 OZ #2 lead shoot is just scary to contemplate.

No robust due process then no support for this kind of legislation. If they enact any old slip shod BS good luck getting it fixed.

I don't have my notes in front of me. Was researching 12V pumps for similar use and was able to do internet search for what I wanted. Ended up finding several highly recommend pumps. Short of a good recommendation search "Best 12V RV Water Transfer Pump". Good luck.

God Bless them is right. Had 2 Uncles in stalags one a Liberator pilot one a field surgeon the other uncle a forward artillery observer on The Canal and latter CO of most USMC arty ever put together, during Vietnam. Grew up next door to an infantry man 44/45 and a P38 pilot same era. Old man volunteered to drive ambulances 44/45 when army medically disqualified him. Old man had a co-worker lost a leg when a Japanese tank ran over him and another in pilot training when the war ended. My God Father was in flight training and his brother flying P47 in Europe. Thats the short list, when I was a pilot in the Navy a lot of other guys had similar backgrounds. All in All generally a great bunch bunch of guys.

A little antidotal note here. I have hunted southern AZ for Coues going on 50+ years. Deer numbers are down in S AZ and cattle grazing has been non existent for going on 2 decades. The F ing grass is so thick now days I get grass seeds in my trouser pockets and went to high top boots because all the crappy dried grass mulch got into my low top boots. We saw more and bigger deer when there were cattle, beat down cow paths and cooped grasses. Things got a little drier about 20 years ago and the oaks quit putting out a mast crop. Since then (no acorns on the oaks) deer a bit tougher to find and smaller and band tailed pigeons basically gone and not because of cows grazing. dang grass doin just fin in parts of S AZ, besides deer don't eat grass. Not sure about the under rim area but cows never seemed to hurt Coues numbers. Back to the under rim and BarX, OP stated studies from 70's and 450 cow calf units and reduction to what did he say 50 units? Did the discussion say now the ranch has permit for 130ish cow/calf units? So OP what is the number of unit increase the rancher is asking for now?
