    2008 Rhino 700 EFI

I know we got a slew of hunts coming up until the end of the year so just wanted to gauge the interest on here before I put it up on craigslist. I purchased the Yamaha Rhino for my elk hunt and will plan on selling it after the hunt (next week). I'd like to ask for $6,500 for the Rhino alone or $7,500 with the 6x10 trailer. It's a 2008, got about 5,300 miles and the tires are great. PM me if interested. Title is in hand but again won't be ready to sell until after next week (hopefully with a bull in my garage 🙂).

    Almost time

Had some work come across my desk to be worked on right during the hunt...I had to pull out my handy dandy approved pto calendar...just shrugged my shoulders at my boss...he said he'd find someone else to work on it 🤜

    Almost time

Oh man...sleepless nights are ensuing. Make sure you stock up on masks and socially distance out in the woods!!!! 😛
  6. Disclaimer: I am a long time ethical hunter and I only target practice with my bow at this distance purely for fun. I do not hunt/shoot animals at this distance nor do I recommend, suggest or condone taking shots at any animals at this distance or ANY distance for that matter if you are not confident that you can make a lethal shot every time. Be ethical and know your limits!! ********************************************************************* I get this may sound like a stupid question but I'll ask it anyhow... For those that target practice for fun out to 100+yds: How many arrows will you shoot in a sitting and how much time between shots? I ask because obviously fatigue is much more apparent at longer distances. I will shoot no more than 9 shots (3 sets of 3) with about 1 minute between each shot and I can maybe shoot 12" groups (I realize I have lots of work to do to tighten that up). If I shoot more rapidly than that or shoot more than 9 my consistency starts to decline quite a bit. Wasn't sure how others might approach the longer shots? Here is my current setup: Bow: Hoyt Helix, 28.5" @ 70lbs / BlackGold Ascent Verdict 5-pin / limbdriver drop-away / 8" fuse stabilizer (frontend) - nothing on the backend. Arrows: GT HunterXT - 340s / with 100 gn tip / 2" Blazer Fletchings.

    100+Yard Shots - What's your approach?

You make a good pint. I do get out to the range about 4 times a week and shoot 30-40 shots at 3Ds at various ranges (at least that's been my routine for the last 4 months). I just feel that I have too much pin float if I'm shooting to many and too rapidly at 100+. I have to go at it slow to keep a slower pin float. Again, you make a good point though.

    100+Yard Shots - What's your approach?

Thanks! I never was able to find much by searching other forums so I figured I'd ask the question myself LOL!

    100+Yard Shots - What's your approach?

I will typically do the same...I'll shoot my 3 sets @ 100 and then I'll move my way down to shorter ranges...I agree with you, those 60yds have begun to look more like 40 used to! I've heard about the FOC but don't know too much. I might do a little more research on that! Thanks for the input!

    New bow or new strings?

For what it's worth, I've had nothing but good experiences at bear mountain...Ed has always helped me out + help me setup and dial in my new Helix I bought. He's done lots of work for my brother too. Just another man's opinion though

    WTB Hoyt Helix - RH, 27" / 60-70LB

Looking to upgrade: Right Hand Hoyt Helix, #2 or #3 ZTPro cams would work (I'm a 27" DL), 60-70 lb. Can be bare bow, don't necessarily need any accessories, just looking to upgrade from my current setup.
  14. Been out of archery for several years and finally getting the bow dusted off my Hoyt Vector (60 lb) but looking for a new multi-pin sight for an upcoming hunt this fall. There is a lot out there by the big names: Apex, IQ, Trophy Ridge, Black Gold etc. Any recommendations? Any thoughts or comments would be much appreciated.

The official “I didn’t get jack shoot” thread

It would be really interesting to find out how many tags were awarded by group applications by hunt vs. single applicant. Antelope is hard for me...I've known guys that pull tags with 3-5 BPs, or draw multiple tags within a few years. I was talking with a buddy and he mentioned the idea of making the Rifle antelope like a Sheep hunt (1 per lifetime) but keep archery the same, you could put in for archery every year...personally I haven't thought through it all but at the surface I can't say I disagree. I've got 18 BPs and counting for antelope and have never drawn a tag and I've got friends and family that have 23+ BPs and have never drawn antelope either.
