Covid has increased deer hunting license sales everywhere, even in WI where we just reversed a decline trend. So while they are going up it's not clear how much or how long that will continue once we get past this pandemic.  I also can't wait for it to be over so all the urban campers and hikers go back to the malls and coffee shops.  Not easy finding a camping spot or parking at trailheads either.

It is pretty ridiculous in some units. On my elk hunt one day we had some guy in short shorts walking down the trail with his dog blowing his bugle tube every minute. Shut the elk up quick that’s for sure

No your limits and stick to them .I can't say I haven't lost an animal it happens to all hunters. But Damm 4 elk .I'm all about not bashing those for hunting with what's legal but you might need to change some things .I found that a rage in the shoulder on a deer is not a good thing and went to fixed blade and learned that it's important to make good shots no matter what your weapon of choice. For me it wasn't about yardage my shot was only 18 yds and the deer was broadside it was learning where to hit them.4 elk on any hunt is poor skills or just poor ethics and not caring about the game you hunt .it would get you kicked off the app to hunt in our group .

This was definitely the worst I’ve done on a hunt ever. I’m 2 for 2 on otc deer but this was a whole different game almost. I switched up arrows about last minute and changed broadheads too that’s what might’ve done it. Hate to make those excuses because I just wasn’t focused this go around and it ended up putting arrows in multiple bulls

    I think I'm gonna puke.

It is pretty sickening. I’m new to archery elk and I quickly learned it isnt as easy as I thought it was. But it isn’t like I shot one and said oh well he didn’t die. Every bull I shot I spent hours and covered miles and miles searching but there wasn’t much I could do considering the ones that bled decent initially quit bleeding after 1 or 2 hundred yards and had tracks leading uphill. It is what it is I guess. I’m confident that all of them except maybe 1 made it out alive ok

Crap happens, but I fail to find any humor in it. You serious?

I didn’t mean to make it funny. It kinda sucks yeah. Things just didn’t seem to work out for me. I hit 4 different bulls, 3 stuck and one pass through and never found one cuz the blood trail stopped and they were gone. Missed several as well. Had quite a bit of action though, just couldn’t make it happen
