Fished Apache last Saturday. Bite was not great but somewhat steady. Got into a couple of nice smallmouth.I would go Roosevelt way and launch at 3 mile. It's only like two miles of dirt and launch is a little steep but way easier on the equipment. Havasu or Apache would be my choices. Jake

Dad was able to get his pig on Friday. Located a couple herds before the opener, tried to long range one, pigs didn't cooperate. With four more days off we hit Apache lake for some smallmouth. Fun trip! Jake

We were able to hook up with a couple of nice smallmouth. Bite was kinda slow, but alot fun.

I am using 101 gr. of R-33 in my edge with 300gr berger OTM.Shoots consistently at temps from 90 to 50 degrees. Comes out at 2950 fps. Have switched to this load from 90 gr of H-1000.at 2820fps. R-33 was developed for the 338 lapua. Some say it's temperature sensitive but I've not seen it. ES stays at 10 to 15fps,at ambients of 90-50 degrees.Shoots half MOA all day long.

Sounds to me like you must of bumped your head to make a prediction like that !!

It was an awesome hunt. We had a few shooter bucks located before the hunt, with the buck I harvested being one of them. We packed in opening day, got to our spot before light and set up my .338 Edge and other essentials for a likly long range shot. Conditions were windy. Like blowing my tripod and my 15's over windy lol. So we left the big gun up on the point and started still hunting the head draws that we had seen the buck in weeks prior. About 45 minutes into it, my son grabbed me and said "I got him." We were able to sneak in below him about 200 yards and the the 25-06 did the job. After about a 3 mile and 6 hour packout I was ready for a nap lol. Thank you Pat Watson and Murray clove for the help on packing the deer out.

Does the new version give you a solution past 1400 yrds? Been having to use exball on my PDA or shooters past 1400 yrds. On wind I use a kestrel 3500.then enter it in shooters or exball with spin drift already added. to the program. The BR2 wind dope leaves a lot to be desired. For hunting its hard to beat the BR2 for speed when setting up for the shot.Just have your wind dope ready to go.Been using one for couple of years and got no complaints.Also make sure you validate it out to whatever range you plan to shoot.

Heard 23 may go out for the year. 9 sows taken so far.Need to close that early hunt. s

Long range 338 edge 300gr OTM berger 101gr of R-33 2950fps. Under 300yrds 30/06 180gr accubond 56gr IMR 4350.

I have the chrony beta and the magneto speed v1. The magneto speed is by far a better chronograph than all the others.There are several well known long range hunters who compared all the chronos and the magneto comes out on top every time(With the oehler 35 a close second) . It is user friendly and a snap to set up. As Willhunt4coues said it's dead on in any and all conditions.Once you get your ES and velocity take it off and check your point of impact.
