    Minox riflescopes

I don't remember the model, but I had a Minox 2-10x42. Good glass, it tracked well and I wanted it for an elk rifle but no matter what I did I could not get the eye relief right at 2-4x so I traded it to a friend.

WTB: Nosler Accubond .30 cal/165 grain

Hi guys, sorry I missed the posts. Metau, very kind offer but don't go to the trouble on my account. 100+, yes 180s seem to be in ready supply but my load is for 165 grain and they are hard to come by lately. Was hoping someone had stocked up and they were collecting dust at the back of a safe somewhere.

    Powers Garden

It's accessible off the Klondyke Rd: http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/coronado/specialplaces/recarea/?recid=25458&actid=50 I wouldn't say it is easy to get to, and that's before you start hiking.

    Toyota Tacoma 2014--Need Opinion

If you are looking for the nexus of power, torque and fuel economy in a gas engine take a look at the F150 with the turbo V6 Eco-boost engine. 350+ horsepower stock is no joke and if I keep it at prudent speeds I'm getting 22.5-25 MPG on the road in my 2012 F150 4x4. For what it's worth, my previous truck was a stock '01 Taco TRD 4x4 with a 5 speed and the 3.4 V6. That motor was a dog and strained on the slightest incline towing my 14' aluminum...with OEM size BFG AT's it was lucky to get 18 on the highway and I stopped monitoring it in town because it was just making me angry I think you'll regret going from a Dodge diesel to a Tacoma. Edit: I realize the OP doesn't care about MPG's after re-reading his posts...I'll still say in my opinion the only advantages to the newer generation of Tacos over full size trucks is the probability of lower cost of maintenance over the life of the vehicle and a high re-sale value.
  10. Anyone played with this pack yet? Bull Basin has one in Tucson and it looks like a great pack for hauling meat or just gear without being too ridiculous in size for a day hunting pack. I like the looks of the external frame for hauling meat too. Curious if anyone has tried one in the field.

    Eberlestock Team Elk Pack

Thanks for the input guys. Yep, this gives me pause too, but I willing to accept it. My "light" Badlands 2800 really cannot handle anything more than a javelina and my gear and in 4 seasons I've busted the buckles on it twice and the zippers are starting to fail. I just don't have confidence to take it elk hunting this season.

    self inflating sleeping pads

If you are serious about backpacking they are a pretty critical piece of gear. I've slept on Thermarests for many years and considering the terrain I've camped in I think they are pretty well made. They also provide legit insulation from the ground and a comfortable place to sleep. Like any other outdoor gear, you pay more for the ones that weigh the least. I just bought a newer one with "waffling" and it's nice as the feature eliminates slipping off the pad, which was/is a common complaint for some of the older rectangular models. This is the model I have now and i like it quite a bit: http://www.summithut.com/products/prolite-plus/ I also use it to insulate my cot when I car camp in cold weather and I have an older "giant" sized one like this: http://www.summithut.com/products/basecamp-pad/ I bought on Craigslist for truck bed sleeping.

    Two Packs Horn hunter Eberlestock

Sorry to hear that. Watched my Vizsla puppy suck down a small Eagle Claw snelled hook some slob left on the bank on the Salt three weeks ago. Can't tell you what a miracle it was to find the hook and snell stuck in a rag she also swallowed on the trip puked up in my backyard the evening we got back. Glad your dog is doing well.

    Sedona fishing?

Most stretches that are single barbless hook/no bait are clearly marked. Trouble with fishing this time of year is competing with swimmers for the best holes...as said, drift 4# test and tiny hooks with a nightcrawler under a clear bobber in any of the deeper pools and you should be in fish. If you fly fish just look for good rock structure. Last March I hooked, and lost, an estimated 22-24" Brownie on a #18 Copper John dead drifted through a boulder run below the Bootlegger pull out.

    Night catfishing with kids

Just back from a few days on the Salt in that area. River is low and the fishing was really slow. Had heard favorable reports from anglers in the last few weeks but 2 guys, 4 rods for 48+ hours we managed 3 fish...and everyone we talked to was doing worse than us.

AZGFD Public Meeting On License/Tag Fees

Will try to make Tucson tonight, thanks for posting the meeting dates/times. Will also say I'm glad I used my tax return to buy a lifetime hunting/fishing license two years ago. I know it would pay for itself, but I didn't think it would start to happen this fast...
