Last year I had an early archery bull and killed a 320s bull. This year my oldest and I have a late rifle tag. My boy has a raghorn under his belt and but wont be too picky. Ill be trying to best last years bull.

Ill be up this weekend on a half elk scout/half fishing trip. Looking to get on some trout. Have flies, spinners, and power bait. Any tips for this time of year? Ryan

I have a portable clear windshield I strap up if very cold or rainy, otherwise no windshield. Visibility is decreeased but it breaks the wind and keeps the rain off. Think I paid $40 on amazon. Only use it a couple times a year if that. Carry it in a trunk in the bed. I built my own roof with enough front over hang that it works as a visor 90% of the time.

3 is not horrible. Just put the cots in a u shape. Works fine for me with 1 XL and 2 reg sized cots. I have one set of disco bunk bed cots now and am contemplating another set so that 4 people would be possible and still keep a lot of floor space. I recommend the awning enclosure for the 12x9. I dont put the awning up every trip but it comes in handy if the bugs are bad, as a cook area, gear/mud room, or additional sleeping space if needed.

Ive had the 12x9 kodiak cabin for 5 years now I think. A little more time consuming to put up (20-25 mins solo) but u get the awning and if u get the enclosure u have a bonus room. A couple minor issues with poles that with replacements sent immediately free. Not selling but recommend kodiak.

Good year to have a tag! My tag is a mid tier unit early archery bull hunt. Late hunt dates and 2 weeks to hunt I'm hoping for a strong rut and a big mature bull but will put meat in the freezer by the end of the hunt if necessary.

Missed a great bull 3 nights ago that I'm not sure I'll ever get over. Kept working the same general area hoping to turn him back up. Called this guy in last night to 23 yards and just couldn't pass him. He's got some character with the 21 inch G3, the kicker off his Royal, and a devil point brow.

The QAD exodus 125 full blade is my new favorite. Blew thru my bull, big holes, awesome blood, no need to poke him on recovery cause he flipped flat on his back after a 100 yard death run.

Condensed version: Countless scouting days starting in August with a final push that ended up being 23 days total with a 1 shot kill at 266 yards by myself on day 8 of the hunt. Used the Tikka T3 Lite 300 win mag shooting factory 165 Barnes as discussed in other thread about building that gun. Performed perfectly. A lion had moved in and killed a lamb on day 2 and was hunting the same sheep I was chasing - scattered em. Literally lion tracks on top of sheep tracks. My 2 big rams disappeared and I ended up with my #3 ram solo diy after some very tough hunting. If only the season opened 4 days earlier... BirdDog and my dad were there for the first 3.5 days and a huge help/thx to them! We could've killed a lesser ram on opening evening but I passed. 100% solo after that. Once down, a good trusted friend/mentor helped me cape and pack him out of one nasty/vertical spot. Huge thx! More than happy with this ram! Thx to all that helped and have mentored hunting the desert over the years - you know who you are. I think this was a culmination of a life time of learning and struggling to be successful at hunting. And thx to the family for understanding the significance of such an opportunity. Checked out at 163.5 and 8 years old. Can't wait to see what Clay at Mogollon taxidermy does with him.

So I called Toyo directly to see what advice they could give. One of the first questions asked by the was what psi I was running my current tires. I told her and she did some math and stated I was running too high psi for what my axels are load rated for. She gave me the proper psi based on my veh specs. Ill admit she was getting above my pay grade on the explanation... She admitted that it might not effect towing but my numbers were definitely off. And she gave a couple alternatives for slightly lighter/narrower tires but not lots of options because my rims are 9.5 wide.

In need of new tires this summer and wondering if a change in tire would make any difference towing? Ive done the 35s the last 2 sets and willing to consider something else if it would help. Certain hills up north it bogs down to barely 40 mph and really struggles just towing my ranger, has over heated my transmission twice before getting tranny cooler. Its been suggested to me that is what to expect with big heavy tires. Truck: 2006 F150 5.4L super crew, 6 lift, 35x12.5x18 tires (never regeared to my knowledge) Accessories: cold air intake, exhaust, tonneau cover, transmision cooler, edge evo programmer

Glad the question was productive with some jokes mixed in. Ive taken note of all the things thrown out there and will look into. Ill get regearing priced but not sure thats gonna be possible $ wise right away. Also looking at lighter weight tire options in the mean time. I have the Toyo ATs and like them so will likely stick with what they offer. Not sure I like the idea of the look of a 33ish tire on my setup but will consider.
